'I always admired Sachin, never called him a liar'

New Delhi, October 25:: Stung by a barrage of criticism, retired Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist denied calling Sachin Tendulkar a 'bad sport' and a 'liar' in his upcoming autobiography, claiming that he was misinterpreted by the media. Gilchrist said all is well between him and Tendulkar after he rang up the I  ....Read more

Does it matter?By: Eternal Truth | Friday , 24 Oct '08 22:25:28 PM Reply | Forward I think it doesn't matter what Gilchrist thinks about Tendulkar. Sachin is a player which generations to come would distinctly remember, Gilchrist would be remembered by few, may be just by Australians.Atleast the Asian countries are well convinced that several Australian players are arrogant and not very friendly people. Gilchrist's comments just reinforces this belief.
This is not going to be enough.By: VR | Friday , 24 Oct '08 21:31:46 PM Reply | Forward Gilly, you have to try some other stunt to sell your book in India. Have you had an affair with an Indian actress or atleat a crush on one of them. Then you will be selling, until pirates start printing copies.
Gilly a good sledgerBy: Balu Toronto | Friday , 24 Oct '08 21:20:11 PM Reply | Forward It is to distract Indians from current form and series this book has been timed and published. OZ make all efforts even after they retire. This is also anothe form of sledging, being a stmper he must have involved in many sledging incidents! OZ remains with players with out spirit of the game not now but from the days of Bill Lawry and Bobby Simpson were the openers in mid/late 60s.
Gilly You lost it mateBy: Ashok Shetty | Friday , 24 Oct '08 21:19:58 PM Reply | Forward Gilly, You are the one Australian cricketer I admired the most. All these years, among all irritating racist Aussies, you maintained your dignity. But you all these in one bloody comment. I don't understand this mentality of hurting somebody with this kind of comments and then apologising. You lost it completely mate.

Gilly, Gilly, Gilly....By: Prasad Gudimetla | Friday , 24 Oct '08 17:46:57 PM Reply | Forward You yourself once said that what's said on the field remains on there. I guess you are too jobless these days mate...why don't you play some more for the Aussies?!
Cheap publicity for BookBy: Skarnik | Friday , 24 Oct '08 17:11:12 PM Reply | Forward Gilly, this cheap publicity of book, even if sachin has done such thing in INTREST OF COUNTRY AND TEAM MATES. Also, to celebrate the Lost Match nothing great about it.
India’s new found supremacy in world cricketBy: puneet | Friday , 24 Oct '08 16:58:46 PM Reply | Forward All I Have to say is that India’s new Found Supremacy in all three forms of cricket twenty-twenty, one day internationals and now in test cricket is very hard for a self centered team like Australia to believe and acknowledge and the worst thing is that their own media has gone against them. Isn’t this a sign guys? So don’t really loose heart on such comments from a side which is known to create controversies on and off the field more than any other cricket playing nation. Personally I feel very proud as an India cricket fan to see these coward Australians finding it hard to believe the truth about India emerging as the new power house in world cricket especially with their record away from home. But when playing India in India the whole world knows it can get rough, Australians just can’t handle the heat anymore. Its called pay back time, I am confident kumble will shine again at the Delhi Pitch with the Pitch maker Sharma assuring Kumble a farewell gift
