'Mumbai cops don’t know Hindi, should speak Marathi'

Pune, September 13:: Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray has termed as "outrageous" the alleged comment by Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) K L Prasad that "Mumbai was not anybody's ancestral property." The top cop had made the remark while briefing the media on the recent agitation by Maharashtra Navn  ....Read more

Problems for mumbaiBy: Rupesh | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 16:46:10 PM Reply | Forward Mumbai is going to the dogs. The most vibrant city is slowly being destroyed by the thakerays with active support by the ruling combination. Both the locals and migrants are suffering for the faults of a few. If the state govt acts tough on slums the migrant issue will be resolved to a large extent. Marathi is a beautiful language with a literary history better than hindi and its worth learning this language.
Language Problem in MaharashtraBy: Alphonso D souza | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 16:13:19 PM Reply | Forward My dear Maharashtrian friends - I used to educate some of my over religious friends in the UAE (34 years since) that only when you have a Stable Country - you can speak your language fearlessly and practice religion to your heart's content.. Our Indian History is proof to the invasion by Moghals of the Divisive Hindu Kings who could not keep India as ONE INDIA because of thier divisive aspirations. Today all over India we are either fighting our own kith and kin in the name of religion or language. Can we not be ONE People - i.e INDIANS and then be Maharashtrians, Kannadigas, Keralites, Tamis, Punjabis, Biharis etc Please please consider this request my Indian brotheren.
Mumbai cops don't know HindhiBy: Vasoo Kamulkar | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 15:49:30 PM Reply | Forward One would have thought that the IPS candidates are trained also in diplomacy. If the Centre is craving for another fiasco in Kashmir. the best recipe would be to get K.L.Prasad transferred to the Valley to declare on the channel, "Kashmir Kisi Ke Baap Ka Nahin!" May be Prasad wasn't born, when in 1956, 105 Maharashtrians were martyred at the then Flora Fountain, for the sake of Marathee and Mumbaee. Perhaps the IPS Exam. Board did not expect him to learn the history about his own home-state! Would Prasad be brave enough to declare in Hyderabad that Andhra Pradesh, " Kisi Pota Ramulu Ke Baap Ka Nahin? " All IPS and IAS officers serving in Maharashtra and GOA, Amar Sinh, Mulayam Singh andLaloo Singh should be asked to offer prayers at the HUTATMA CHOWK like other dignitairies do at Gandhi' s Shanti Van. Mumbai shall belong –YAWACHCHANDRADIWAKAROU- to baaps of all Maharashtrians especially to the Baaps of all who fought for it, including Atre, SM Joshi, NG Gora, KC Thackraya
THIS SENILE BUDHDHA GKHUSAD BABBAL THACKERAY MUST GET HIS HEAD EXAMINED By: GHATI OF CHUNNABHATTI | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 16:04:00 PM Reply | Forward The sheer arrogance of this Marathi madcap and buffoon never ceases to amaze me. Has it occurred to this tadpole from Shivaji Park’s mucky pond that the vast majority of the Bombay (not Mumbai's) public and their children are least interested in spending the valuable part of their and their children's lives on useless education in an internationally unrecognised medium? Because it is like learning the language of the uncivilised Hotentots of the Kalahari desert. And the vast majority of shopkeepers and traders in Bombay have already defied him in not putting up their signboards in Marathi because the vast majority of their customers are non-Marathis who do not understand, read, write or speak Marathi. The traders have the right to put up their boards in the language that vast majority of their customers can understand. It seems this semi-literate goon is severely mentally handicapped and is without any vision. His vision is failing, his mental capabilities are failing and soon his physique will fail and get deformed. His mother after whom he has named his ill-gotten bungalow would be ashamed that she has given birth to such a Frankenstein monster.
ApologiesBy: selvan | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 14:54:52 PM Reply | Forward Hussain has apologized for his actions. Being an atheist what he did in the name of art is certainly wrong, but on the other hand go around India and visit the temple sculptures and paintings, one would find the images of gods, deities in representation that is much more seductively revealing than what Hussain did, nudity conveys a different message in Hinduism as our Lingam in spite of its outwardly sex connotation. It conveys a different philosophy which other religions may find very hard to interpret. This is very true about all religions. People should go deeper into religious philosophy to understand the scriptures, superficiality is highly dangerous. This applies to all religions.
SelvanBy: sri | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 16:44:26 PM Reply | Forward Dearselvan, when will u understand ? It is just because u r brainwashed by DMK and others that u feel so for HINDUISM and its practices.. May I ask u why Muslims all over the world raised a hue and cry when there were cartoons by a danish news paper? Did the mere mention of the cartoon denigrated the nobility of ISLAM? Is that religion so fragile ? so similarly if Hussain wanted to paint Nudes in the name of art.. why did he not paint Fathima , or his mother in nude ..after all he would have suckled her .. so it all boils down to the fact that what is good for goose need not be good for gander..
sriBy: kelkar | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 17:37:30 PM Reply | Forward also think of christians. despite jesus being shown drinking beer, and having fiance, the society is tolerant.nobody is going to change the religion because of such adverse criticism if you have full faith in your own beliefs.attack is not in any way the solution. why cant thackerays build some more marathi schools, factories, IT companies and employ only marathis 100% to show marathi pride.
100% Sure ppl wont understand but i still want they should...By: Amit | Monday , 19 Oct '09 10:17:18 AM Reply | Forward C n example india can export softwares in Hindi language to usa, france england or other countries ,same applies to all like raj thackrey cant make usa getting all software in marathi language so are same with kannad n tamil as well hyderabad ,banglore ,delhi, noida
criminal politicansBy: kelkar | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 14:28:18 PM Reply | Forward JCP should not have uttered a word against Raj. Police force is not give tit for tat in words, but to show their action. instead of calling baap and all that shit, he should have taken firm action by arresting raj and his goondas. if our mumbai burns, as told by sharad pawar, during bal thackeray's gimmicks in 80s, let it happen and call the military to control the situation. put them in jail for one month, and things will be back to normal. anyway time and again some or the other burning issues crop up in mumbai and other states. what happened in gujarat, orissa, west bengal. uprising occurs and a few days it will be normal. RR Patil, the great HM who runs after small mices like bar girls, should try to contain this menace in the bud itself, lest it viciates the whole mumbai environment. the govt should teach these terrorists of a different sort a lesson. the central govt also should forego their vote bank concept for peace in india as a whole.
Criminal PoliticiansBy: anbu1942 | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 14:14:54 PM Reply | Forward Raj Thackeray seems to have complicity in his collusion with the terrorist elements. He is fully confident that his friends will unleash terror in Bombay should the police take action on him. He thinks that every police officer will protect the killers and the criminal elements. But Police officer Prasad is made up of different constituents. Thackeray is behaving like the world Policeman Mr. Bush blanketing his crime under the dishonest slogan of Marathi nationalism. In Tamil Nadu, Mr Kaduvetti Guru, PMK political party’s strongman insulted a police officer in unutterable filth and he was arrested a few weeks ago for obstruction of justice. No individual is above the law. Was not Indhira Gandhi arrested and imprisoned? Prasad should not yield to bullies; it is not he who should apologize but Raj Thackeray for his arrogance. Is he not showing his disloyalty to the nation and its constitution by challenging a top ranking police officer and blocking him from carrying out his duties?

foolishBy: R | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 13:13:12 PM Reply | Forward While Chinese dragon leaps forward with confidence,Indian paper tiger hardly manages to crawl and wastes its energy on "big" issues like language.Ha ha ha.
Control these demonsBy: Rajeeve Chelanat | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 13:07:50 PM Reply | Forward Shiv Sena and similar communal outfits should be brought under control. These communal hooligans are gaining upperhand in the control of our secular and democratic civic society. The attack against MF Hussain, Bachchans, UP-Hindi migrants, and now even against the police force show how they had gained strength all over the state. They are keeping the state and even the country in ransom. This should be stopped immediately and they be kept under check by all means.
Why only Mumbai?By: Indian | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 12:54:44 PM Reply | Forward I have seen that the SS only seem to care for Maharashtra because of Mumbai. I don't see them staging Marathi-sign board protests in other cities like Nagpur. Everybody knows that Mumbai is the biggest city in India and anybody who wants control on Maharashtra will have to control Mumbai. So there you see, its all about power and not about love for city/culture/people.
For Law enforcement Agency people comes first By: william V D Mello | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 12:20:50 PM Reply | Forward Law force agencies are not interested what you speak, they are there to uphold the Law, His Language is exactly what he should have talked. We are not born with property in Hand. so where is Hindi or Marati, he is there to protect the life of an invididuals. No one has the right to question their integrity. I only request this Jt commissioner to stand Tall and I salute Him.
Law enforcement agencyBy: venkat | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 13:40:42 PM Reply | Forward When National Express Highway was blocked by Dalits for hours together where was this tall and upright policeman. Did he attempt to remove them from the HIghway or did he kept quiet by orders from his political masters.
