'N Indians adding to travel woes of Marathis'

Pune, November 3: : Taking a fresh swipe against the North Indian population in the state, Shiv Sena on Monday alleged that their burgeoning population in the metropolis was adding to the travel woes of 'Marathi Manoos' "It is an irony that the Marathi 'manoos' to whom Mumbai belongs, finds it hard to even enter t  ....Read more

Shame on MNS By: AN | Monday , 3 Nov '08 19:07:39 PM Reply | Forward Dear Mr. Raj/ Balasaheb, if you are really interested in helping Maharashtrians, please go to Latur, Nashik and other parts of Maharshtra where the poor Maharashtrian farmer is commiting suicide. Are they not Maharashtrians??? So why not help them first. Please stop this nonsense of protecting the so called Marathi manoos. I'' am a Maharashtrian myself and hate your style of politics. If you are really want to show Marathi pride then help the Producers of the film "TINGYA" which has also been sent to the Oscars with your crores of black money. If you are really interested in helping the Marathi Manoos then go to the tribal belts and help those needy Maharashtrians come out of stark poverty. I am confident that you possess neither the guts nor the political will to help the causes that I have mentioned above. Because of people like you all, we Maharashtrians, will get a bad name
Imbalance in growthBy: Srihari Sharma MJ | Monday , 3 Nov '08 18:49:10 PM Reply | Forward The ongoing so-called fight between Marathis and non-marathis (outsiders) can be understood as fight between haves and have-nots (meaning basic living needs, wealth, opportunity...). Why is that people always migrate from North India to Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Gujrath and other developing states and the straight answere is lack of opportunity in Northern states to live a life with minimal basic needs. With a proven track record of Indian politics dominated by North Indian politicians from the time of Independance, the leaders seldom have done anything worth for the people to have employment opportunities thereby not-thinking-of-migrating to lands of opporunities in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad... And when this migration increases practical competition between locals and out-siders always starts and starts to worst...
Reservations please.By: TV Puram | Monday , 3 Nov '08 18:10:30 PM Reply | Forward Is that all? Constitution could be amended to enforce 'Maharashtrians Only Public Conveyances System.'. (MOPCS) Trains, Buses, Auto's Taxis, Planes, Ships, Country craft....... all will be painted unmistakeably sufffron, and Shiv sena specified Lion symbols will generously decorate these.
Mumbai - the new West Bengal in makingBy: Nimish Mehta | Monday , 3 Nov '08 18:09:57 PM Reply | Forward Thackreys are cooking the Singur recipe - this is a sure way to reduce investments in Mumbai that is currently the commercial capital of India. Marathi manoos should ask Thackrey's that will the guarantee them jobs once investment in Mumbai dries up?
Looks like separating Bombay from Maharashtra is the only solutionBy: Mona Sharma | Monday , 3 Nov '08 17:59:39 PM Reply | Forward Looks like separating Bombay from Maharashtra is the only solution left. Shiv Sena and MNS are posing greater threat than Pakistan and China. Their leaders should be arrested under NSA before it is too late and civil war starts in the country.
replyBy: Abdul wahab | Tuesday , 4 Nov '08 11:05:33 AM Reply | Forward Mona sharma is a dumb pakistani who does not know that bombay is now mumbai. These pakis are licking their american master's boots in pakistan and send their mothers and daughters to american military camps so that the american soldiers can enjoy themselves.
Law is One for AllBy: manish bakshi | Tuesday , 4 Nov '08 0:45:14 AM Reply | Forward rightly said. just 2 days back a kashmiri separatist leader was booked for 2 yrs under PSA act(threatening integrity of the nation). Wonder y that cannot be applied on Raj Thackrey
Give it a tryBy: Prerak | Monday , 3 Nov '08 22:26:03 PM Reply | Forward Give it a try. Morarji Desai failed miserably even though he was the PM and the people of Maharashtra will make sure you will fail as miserably too.
There are others too....By: Marathi manoos | Monday , 3 Nov '08 21:39:12 PM Reply | Forward If there seems to be a lack of rule of law in Mumbai and M'tra, the blame lies squarely on the shoulders of the Congress Govt at the state level. The Congress is never known to protect ordinary law abiding citizens,as witnessed in Assam, and the mass migration of Pandits from J
MonaBy: khattar | Monday , 3 Nov '08 19:26:17 PM Reply | Forward Mona Darling,This is MUMBAI.Just go back to Bihar.
Ban Shiv Sena and MNSBy: Mrs Bhanumati | Monday , 3 Nov '08 17:48:43 PM Reply | Forward Beating and killings of hindi speaking people is going on since decades. Marathis have occupied 95% in Maharashtra in the name of Marathism supported by Police and government. In Bombay Marathi gets jobs on the recommendation of Shiv Sena and MNS and they don't need any talent. Hindi and Hindi speaking people are being targeted since the rise of Shiv Sena and Thackerays. Bombay should be separated from Maharashtra.
Why not the other way round?By: Marathi manoos | Monday , 3 Nov '08 21:32:39 PM Reply | Forward I think a better solution is to separate Bihar and UP from India. That way the rest of India will not have to contend with the likes of Laloo,Mulayam,Mayawati etc who have looted and destroyed their own states and now say migrating to efficiently run states is their birth right!Try and separate Mumbai from Maharashtra, we Marathis will teach you that Jinnah's 'Direct Action' day was a mere side show compared with what we are capable of!Remember the Marathis alone resisted the Mughals like Aurangzeb while the rest of North India was crawling at his feet including the so called brave Rajputs!Haaah!
Response to - Why not the other way round?By: Jinnah | Tuesday , 4 Nov '08 13:31:09 PM Reply | Forward Hey Marathi Manoos....i'm proud of u. You, being my grandson....has indeed taken "the direct action day" many notches ahead!! U r my true blood...bravo
Do not poison society by regional divideBy: Bharat | Monday , 3 Nov '08 17:44:05 PM Reply | Forward The sanity in society must be restored by building confidence among all regions. All regions are important and their culture and sanctity must be respected. Politicians must stop playing with fire as violence is not the ethos of Indian civilization. The burning of trains, damaging buldings, killings etc. do not provide any solution to any problem. All must understand each other and respect their feelings. That is the wonder India was. All ills of today's India are rooted in corrupt and deceptive polity who would do anything to stay in power. While the rest of the world progresses, India is being destroyed from within.
Shiv senaBy: Surendran Nair | Monday , 3 Nov '08 17:43:06 PM Reply | Forward There seems to be a conspiracy to drag the Shiv Sena into the recent ruckus in Maharashtra. The whole episode seems to be stage managed by the Pseudo- secularists Camp.
BIHAR is NOT the PROBLEM its LEADERS areBy: BHARAT BHGYA VIDHATA | Monday , 3 Nov '08 17:28:55 PM Reply | Forward The problem is that parties like shiv sena or MNS will gain support in MAHARASHTRA unless and untill these Politicians from Bihar do something about the state. they don't do anything for their state when they come to power. why didn't lalu threatened to resign when Bihar flood victims were not getting aid. he rules Bihar for 15 years why didnt he created jobs in Bihar. why they have to go to others states to look for jobs. real enemy of Biharis are their politicians not SHIV SENA or MNS. Parties like shiv sena and MNS are like those plague which feeds on filth and that filth is created by People like lalu and paswan and nitish. I really hope Bihar govt do something about the development of Bihar so that Bihar people can work in their state with pride and show to the rest of india that they can manage on their own that they dont have to go out in search of work anymore. Central Govt should also realize that special package should be given to states like Bihar orrissa , UP and North EAst
correct analysisBy: santoshkumar | Tuesday , 4 Nov '08 18:17:52 PM Reply | Forward perfect analysis, the article points the problem to the core. its just the poiticians who are stoking the fire
TRUELY SPOKENBy: indian patriot | Monday , 3 Nov '08 19:13:12 PM Reply | Forward VERY, VERY, VERY TRUE.
Degeneration of MumbaiBy: Rajnish | Monday , 3 Nov '08 17:28:01 PM Reply | Forward Mumbai has degenerated because politicians from Maharashtra have not shown any interest in developing the city. Their only interest has been to make money by cornering expensive real estate and collecting "rent" from businesses. Result is there for everyone to see - once efficient and beautiful city of Bombay is now in shambles. While other cities in the country has grown by leaps and bounds, Mumbai is in a time warp. People like Raj Thakerey are pushing it further to the brink by pitting marathis against N Indians - earlier Gujaratis, South Indians and muslims bore the brunt of this hate sort of campaign. However, what amazes me is the readiness with which common people are blindly following them in this path of destruction. Has any city or country prospered by spreading hatred amongst its own people? If people of Mumbai and Maharashtra do not wake up to this reality, their future is cursed.
