1984 Sikh carnage was wrong: Rahul

Amritsar, November 18: Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi condemned the anti-Sikh violence in the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination, saying “whatever happened was wrong”. “The 1984 riots were wrong. I strongly condemn the carnage,” Rahul said at a news conference in response to a question on Operation B  ....Read more

sikh honourBy: Suresh Iyer | Thursday , 20 Nov '08 8:17:00 AM Reply | Forward I dont think Rahul has to show any remorse for congress sponsored Sikh genocide. If the sikh community had any moral conscience the Congress should never ever come back to power in a state like Punjab. BUt more than once after the carnage, the congress has ruled Punjab. It clearly shows how much self honour the sikhs have as a community.THey have not reacted the way the Hindu community did in Gujarat when the Godhra incident was blamed on the Hindus themselves.
Sikh riotsBy: gnsetty | Thursday , 20 Nov '08 6:40:14 AM Reply | Forward I am surprised the news media, including IE,considers this to be FRONT PAGE news when that carnage was so obviously criminally supported by the Congress Party with Rahul's Dad giving open encouragement with his supportive statement : when a big tree falls, the ground shakes ! Did Rahul condemn his own Dad's statement ? What would be newsworthy is if Rahul hunts for those within the Congress who were known to have organised the killings. What will be newsworthy is if Rahul compiles a list of the victims and finds out whether government help reached them or if not, help them from the Congress Party corpus funds.Otherwise his remarks are just pre-poll rhetoric.
Rahul Can Rule IndiaBy: abdrrahmanbinmohamedmeera | Thursday , 20 Nov '08 6:34:46 AM Reply | Forward it does not matter at least he has apologized for the revenge killings of 1984, it shows his brave moral fiber and bold frame of mind, excellent Rahul, keep it up and think and act objectively, do not care about the comments of senile old guys who have so for ruined India on communal lines. The guys who make rude comments are rude because they have are terribly scared that an honest man like you may outdo the communal politicians and take over the administration of India. India needs revolutionaries like you; you can do with the help of good advisors. Take care; get your people united and march forward, history will repeat itself when we get back to the golden days of India's secular democracy under your great-grand father Nehru.
Rahul's comments on action Blue StarBy: Surjeet Singh | Thursday , 20 Nov '08 1:50:49 AM Reply | Forward It is nice to hear how young Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has revealed his 'reaction' on blue star incident - has it not come as a late reaction? Wish and pray that more such 'condemnation' of such incidents bring some consolation to the Sikh community. Incidentally, to my knowledge Sikhs never betrayed Congress, though it looked the other way round. Politics is the dirtiest and most harmful game the politicians play. May good sense prevail. By the way, the persons responsible for this heneous crimes are still alive and are enjoying better and higher positions in the country with hardly any relief to the families and who lost their beloved ones. Loose talks and irresponsible statements labeling young leaders like Rahul Gandhi must be condemned in the strongest words - don't forget "bacha" of today can be, rather will be a better leader tomorrow. Painfully, Sikh community found no healers in any 'Party' as "blue star" did not wake up 'conscience' well wishes.
RahulBy: J J Kumar | Wednesday , 19 Nov '08 22:01:32 PM Reply | Forward India has a promising young politician in Rahul, who can think beyond hatred and lust for money and powder. He is dignified in all his speech, expresses his opinion without ambiguity and not uninvolved in vote bank politics. Hew will earn the stamp of approval of the entire nation very soon.
1984 WrongBy: Carmela | Wednesday , 19 Nov '08 20:21:17 PM Reply | Forward Does he know the meaning of right and wrong. In a milder tone he says it was wrong. If he not like the other bastards of Gandhi family. He should expel all those whose names have figured in the carnage.
1984 Sick carnageBy: Subramanian P V | Wednesday , 19 Nov '08 19:49:19 PM Reply | Forward It took so many years to find out what happened during the Sick carnage. Rahul's elders wee ruling the country when people responsible for this were moving around freely and with satisfaction of having done something worth in their life for their party. Now it is time for the parliamentary elections, people one by one have started shedding crocodile tears for the sin. Do they think people will forget the crime committed by these people and forgive?
1984 Sikh carnage was wrong: RahulBy: manojktewari | Wednesday , 19 Nov '08 17:45:06 PM Reply | Forward it has taken 24 years for congress
stop election tatics it is too lateBy: kirit shah | Wednesday , 19 Nov '08 17:09:55 PM Reply | Forward rahul is trying hard to save him his mother and his grandmother's image by saying so after so many years of the event. politics is the art of impossible and that is what these politicians r doing. at every step congress has tried to prevent any steps being taken against the culprits because they r congress past/present members. congress has always tried to save the culprits . so was the case in bofors case. general non congress people r not taking seriously what rahul says.
Will Supreme court now atleast arrest Sonia?By: Indian | Wednesday , 19 Nov '08 16:07:32 PM Reply | Forward Can our judiciary take cognizance of the statement of Rahul and arrest Sonia and her congress gang for killing sikhs and damaging sikh properties?
