Obama's stand on crisis in gazaBy: shahrokh | Thursday , 29 Jan '09 16:14:30 PM Reply | Forward I have contemplated on Mr. Obamas remarks at the start of the Israeli attacks on Ghaza when he was saying that he would have probably done the same as Israelis if his two daughter's lives were endangered by rocket fires. I am quoting Mr. Obama's pre-innaguration meeting with Israelis that was broadcasted by CNN. I have some thing to say about this and that is : Mr. President, I would not kill hundreds of innocent civilians including women and children and destroy structures and livelihoods of an entire city just to protect my two daughters from possible attacks from an enemy. And I personally don't think your two daughters are cute enough to justify your earlier stand on this issue.

They besiege the weak in legal prohibitions to prevent the weak from resisting. For the weak to resist is illegal by definition. If they realy cared for Palistine, Hamas might think of fighting their war a bit differently. I see and hear the rederic coming out of rouge states such as Iran and terror groups as Hamas and frankly i believe what THEY SAY. Any leader, country, group or otherwise who openly calls for the death of a nation, people, race or religon is evil and will be delt with by God. Hopefuly with the help of good nations who are apauled by these actions. It breaks my heart to think that innocents are dieing every day in cowardly rocket attacks. May God be with Israel and her peoples and smite these terrorists. Israel needs to wipe Hamas off the planet as they should have done long ago.

The Israeli attacks in Gaza is purely the result of their fear of threat to their existence. For them the only defense left is to be on the offensive, whether you like it or not. May be the killing of some Jewish people at the Nariman House has given some acceleration to their action against the Islamic terror camps. India would do well to take a cue from them and attack the terror camps in Pakistan instead of waiting for the next terrorist attack on innocent Indians to make the next noisy condemnations.

But, look at the facts. Independent India had 4 Muslim presidents out of total 10, several cabinet ministers, state chief ministers and other ministers during the past 60 years after independence. There have been many prominent Muslims including Supreme Court judges, Industrialists, artists, sportsmen and very highly qualified personnel etc who command respect from everybody, not only from the Muslims. This is because, the constitution of India guarantees equal opportunities to all its citizens. Interestingly, the name of the last Muslim president was proposed by the "communal" BJP and when BJP proposed his name for a second term, it was the "secularist" parties who had objected it. There are corrupt people in all sections of Indian society and corruption is not religion-specific. I do not consider the entire Muslim community as bad. In fact when I was working outside, some of my good friends had been Muslims and I have found that the Arab nationals in general are very decent and friendly. Using Palestinian land forcibly by the allied forces for creating Israel was a mistake. Before creation of Israel, the Jews did not have a homeland and they were spread all over the world. USA could have given some of their land for the Jews and then, there would have been no problem. Now that Israel is a reality, my suggestion would be that the Arabs show their inherent magnanimity to accept and accommodate them. Of course, this cannot happen if it is only hatred to each other that is ruling the rival minds.
