Proliferation of engg colleges led to scarcity of qualified faculty-diluting qualifications will lead to fall in standards

The AICTE Chairman was requested to dilute the qualifications prescribed to the teaching faculty by the UGC on the premises of non-availability of qualified faculty by the management of private colleges. He has promised to consider this request.AICTE granted conditional approvals without bothering to maintain standards leading to proliferation of colleges which led to the fall in the standards. Now the standards will be diluted still further if the request is considered favourably. This is ample proof of violating the object for which the AICTE was constituted. It is time to repeal the AICTE act completely and pass anew Act learning from the mistakes of the present BODY.

fee structure in self-financing engg colleges as defined in the AICTE payment of fees guidelines

The AICTE Chairman has recently told that it is under consideration to bring uniform fee structure throughout India. He has not cited any rule in this regard. But as per the present guidelines Free seat means the fee must be the same as that charged in the government colleges in a particular state and payment seat means that it should be higher than the government colleges fees. But this rule is followed only in default. Why? So far as payment seats are concerned the Supreme court has already ruled that a panel must be constituted to decide the fee structure on the basis of the facilities available in the respective colleges. How it is proposed to change this.He should explain.
