o i cBy: ritz | Monday , 7 Sep '09 16:04:26 PM Reply | Forward It is suprising that people are so ignorant of the things around them .. especially politics and reality. FI one feels or rather says that the money can be better used for someother purpose why dont we object on building of malls, grand houses of the likes of Ambanis and so many other things in country that happen unnecessarily. Why a project like this which is going to make Mumbai feel proud of a monument like no where else be targeted. We are proud to see Kanyakumari having a statue of its own then why not mumbai . Afterall there has to be some freedom given to locals... U build a bridge and name it after Rajiv Gandhi... why???? is there a shortage of leaders in Maharashtra.....?

statue of our great leadersBy: richard | Friday , 12 Jun '09 19:08:52 PM Reply | Forward Soon we will have one more statue to worship. However this statue will be incomplete unless we sculpture those who turned this city from Bombay to Mumbai. Prominent among them are the members of Thackeray family. It is this family's unending devotion to change the face of this city that made the people to understand power politics. So much so decisions to administer the state are made on the strength of the stones the members of their political parties can throw. Marathi has been introduced at all levels of education and administration on account of their efforts. Today, most of the state employees have their pictures in their homes and they even worship them. As such it is a fitting tribute if the state government install the statues of the Thackeray family along with the statue of great Shivaji Maharaj.
PrioritiesBy: sv | Friday , 12 Jun '09 16:16:49 PM Reply | Forward Rs 200-crore deserve to be first invested in infrastructure, public amenities, housing the poor and then erecting monuments...I am sure even Shivaji maharaj would had been of the same opinion!
