Oil strikeBy: undefined | Friday , 9 Jan '09 14:34:22 PM Reply | Forward Dont allow these striking officers or workers back onn duty when territorial forces r already going to take over. Ministers are saying their demands are unreasonable. All the losses in cash should be recovered from the striking people in cash. They can't hold country to ransom. Managing Directors of these xcompanies were sleeping or they may b supporting it. Sack all the striking people if they r wrong. Recover the money from them , this is the language they will understand.
Oil strikeBy: MJS Raj | Friday , 9 Jan '09 15:47:48 PM Reply | Forward Why the Govt. was sleeping for more than 2 years. Why the MOP was travelling with Ambani and visiting temples?
bpcl officers call off strikeBy: kp chandra | Friday , 9 Jan '09 14:32:09 PM Reply | Forward The strike by oil PSU officers, which has crippled the country is another example of the Govt not being sensitive to such an important issue. It also reflect how a handful of officers can bring the whole country to stand still. These are signs of very very poor governance. The issue should have been settled by the Govt in time. The oil PSU officers may call of their strike due to public fury, but their grievances will continue. The Govt should have held continous discussions and settled it. Will the Govt learn a lesson from this and settle the wages of other PSU urgently?
Strike by oil company executivesBy: A.P. Narayanan | Friday , 9 Jan '09 14:27:33 PM Reply | Forward I fully agree with KVS Kumar. Some harsh measures need to be taken to teach these hooligans a lesson. When other section of people are burdened because of recession, terrorism and the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities, what rights the so called public sector oil company executives to strike and that too at this juncture? They should be sacked at once. Is the government spineless or would it act tough?
Privatise the Oil Sector moreBy: Rajesh | Saturday , 10 Jan '09 5:41:18 AM Reply | Forward Government should encourage more private players into the industry, so that country need not rely on these Public Sector Lazy officers

Oil Sector Officers StrikeBy: A.P. Narayanan | Friday , 9 Jan '09 14:07:11 PM Reply | Forward ESMA should be imposed on the striking officers and they should be sacked from their services. They are playing with the patience of the already overburdened general public. Has the government got the guts to do this?
Oil Sector Officers StrikeBy: A.NATARAJAN | Saturday , 10 Jan '09 3:46:18 AM Reply | Forward Mr Narayanan, before sacking the Oil Sector Officers, the Minister in-charge should be sacked apart from the Government, who have thoroughly failed in handling the situation. What steps they had taken when the Strike notice was served on them by the Unions. The same lethargic attitude has been displayed by Government in the case of Truckers also. So, don't be emotional. First analyse the situation before posting your comments.
Black mailingBy: Ashok Kamboj | Friday , 9 Jan '09 14:03:40 PM Reply | Forward This is really shame for our country where crores of people are living under poverty line
StrikeBy: Pasupathy | Friday , 9 Jan '09 13:46:45 PM Reply | Forward This is the Government working for the so called "Aam Aadmi", the common man. The government employees and public sector employees are taking the Nation for ransom. The Public sector banks go on strike,The postal services were on strike, the Road Transport Corporation employees are threatening strike, the production from Petroleum refineries and movement of products are stalled. The prices shoot up for vegetables and other essentials. the black marketeers are making a kill. Where does the Aam aadmi go? It makes one wonder whether we deserve democratic governance? The opposition parties are keeping quite to watch the fun. Where are we heading?
petrolBy: sumit | Friday , 9 Jan '09 13:22:54 PM Reply | Forward ban workers
End Monopoly wherever it isBy: KVSKumar | Friday , 9 Jan '09 13:17:03 PM Reply | Forward Stop this nonsense !!!! Would the Govt bring the army out if the municipal sweepers go on strike? Please don't be-little the armed fforces by calling for their services for each and every sundry requirements. If the truck owners are not agreeing to negotiate or on any formula put forth by Govt. and continue to be adament at getting what they desire, then introduce ESMA and confiscate their trucks. Thereafter if they agree, release their trucks only after retaining 1/3 of their fleet under state authority for ever so that there will not be any monopoly for ever on this service.
WORST GOVT INDIA HAS SEEN SINCE INDEPENDENCEBy: sureshm | Friday , 9 Jan '09 13:16:34 PM Reply | Forward Even after 3 days of oil sector strike Govt has not done anything to address the genuine issues of the striking officers. Even after 2 days of Satyam fraud no action has been taken by the Govt. This is one of the worst Govt India has seen post independence. The image of India abroad has become a laughing stock. There is no governence. The situation is worse thatn Idi Amins Uganda. PLEASE VOTE FOR CONGRESS IN THE NEXT ELECTION
