Difference of StyleBy: Rajiv | Friday , 31 Oct '08 12:48:39 PM Reply | Forward Comparison of Maharashtra and Bihar by Dr Harry BlairThere is a kind of accommodational approach in the politics of Maharashtra that is absent in the more vicious "winner take all" politics of Bihar. In Maharashtra political winners are expected to reserve some share of rewards for losers, or at least to keep the losers working within the system. Winners in Congress Party factional struggles do not try to purge losers from all rewards of political life, for today's losers are expected to stay in the game, maybe even to win later on. In my time there, in the second half of 1985, the main political issue of the time centered on Sharad Pawar, a group which had lost badly in the parliamentary and assembly polls earlier. But instead of trying to eliminate him completely from political life (which is what the winners would have done in Bihar), the winners in Maharashtra were dickering with him on the terms of his readmission to the Congress.
Difference in political styleBy: Rajiv | Friday , 31 Oct '08 12:45:38 PM Reply | Forward The issue has now developed to a point, where all Bihari politicians are now standing together , opposing Maharashtra politicians from different political outfits. From booking Raj under NSA to dismissing the Vilasrao Govt, they are going all out to show who really has the power in this country. According to a Marathi newspaper, placement for Bihari candidates is still going on in Maharashtra, while Marathi people living in places like Jamshedpur are being mercilessly attacked. No Media channel is highlighting this "law and order" situation. I just remembered one paper , comparing North Indian and Maharashtra politicians. It explains to some extent the Congress/NCP approach to Raj Thackeray. welcome step from PM now time to come forward for marathi manushBy: Anand Kashyap | Friday , 31 Oct '08 12:31:29 PM Reply | Forward we all indian do hope that at least from prime minister's side, it would not be a verbal drama. there would be straight action after all there must be strong impact of words if it has come out from the strongest person of the nation. here again, i would like to appreciate the view of Rajdeep not as a prominent journalist but rather as a prudent marathi man. it is very sad that followers of Shivaji is being deceived by heinous trickster.it is really sad that wise marathi people are supporting him just for his personal interest.if mr so called reformist (mr raj thakry) does so much care about marathi people than why not fight for poor farmers who manages bread for him. perhaps, mr. thackrey is not in the position to realize all these issues. how can he realize if he can not bear spot of "mitti" on his cloth and roam around only in AC car. perhaps, it is right time to wake up especially for marathi manush.
ISSUE OF NORTH INDIANSBy: DEEPAK SINGH | Friday , 31 Oct '08 12:19:20 PM Reply | Forward THIS DRAMA WILL NEVER END BECAUSE OF THESE UNWANTED POLITATIONS INDIA HAS SUFFRED ALOT SO WE ALL IN THE HISTORY OF INDIA BYCOAT THE LOK SHABHA ELECTION SO THAT ONLY PRESEDENT RULE FOLLOW IN NEXT FIVE YEAR SO THAT THESE POPLE GET STRONG MESSAGE OF PEOPLE OF iNDIA
Leave the policeBy: Erasmus | Friday , 31 Oct '08 11:52:40 AM Reply | Forward The problem is Raj Thackrey and not the police. Imagine if Mr Rahul Raj who had taken hostage had shot some passengers. That would have bolstered the North Indian Vs Maharastrian debate. The police was right, there was a person who had taken hostage. Yes, they could have taken any other means, but the prome job was to save the lives of the passengers. Please focus on a case againt Raj Thackrey
Bhashawar Prant RachanaBy: Ravindranath Andurlekar | Friday , 31 Oct '08 10:45:33 AM Reply | Forward Ramvilas Paswan and Lalu should work for Bihar to avoid this type of situation. At the time of partision and while making republic India it is union govt. has accepted prant rachana based on language. If all opportunities are given to other liguistic peoples where Marathi speaking peoples will go ? and why States are made on language basis. If 50 lacs peoples are rejecting their own state and staying in adverse condition in mumbai then who to blame definitely state govt. of each state. Shameles peoples are blaiming well manage and well administrated maharashtra. First they shou introspect in their state of affairs
