Re: Progressive LifeBy: RC | Monday , 6 Jul '09 3:05:57 AM Reply | Forward I guess India is one step away, just like the U.S. and the other 100 plus countries where being gay isn't a crime. I guess people can't tell the difference between the words "consenting adults" and "animals". Maybe that's the reason the discrinimating laws are on the books so long. Deriding the word "progressive" is like Americans using the word "Democrat" or "liberal" to make a point. Using scare tactics and name calling instead of making sensible arguments is the refuge of bigots. Making life better for everyone and working to increase human dignity is progressive. If anyone has a problem with that, then they're the ones who need to be checked out.

But marriage is a sacred word and should not be used for legalising gay/lesbian relationship. They should come up with some other word and leave them alone.
Progressive lifeBy: John David | Sunday , 5 Jul '09 18:48:51 PM Reply | Forward India is just one step behind legalising human sex with animals. Very soon the animal rights groups will come up with such claims that animals have the rights to have sex with human beings because everyone have their basic rights to be respected. Even animals are living beings. It is not going to shock the worlds as already many ppeople have sex with their pet animals.JND

To Do AwayBy: Alistair L | Sunday , 5 Jul '09 17:13:38 PM Reply | Forward That fool should not open his mouth as each time he does shit follows, maybe he should read the dictionary.some one should explain to him that people like that are born that ways those are their jeans. How our Government employs these fools who do not know political history and cannot speak a word of English who are corrupt criticize the western culture run the nation maybe the govt should hold talks with the western world and permit free passage to all Christians to the west, India is not a place for Christians maybe India should be ruled by these fools after all and see where it ends up eventually without taking on any outside help what so ever thats what most of the ministers think they can do achieve it on their own and then when the city crumbles maybe they will change all those fools up there and others will have a chance to lead decent and normal lives at least I for one do not want money and power I am content with all God gave me and even more
Gay IndiaBy: Sean Collins | Sunday , 5 Jul '09 17:07:31 PM Reply | Forward Gosh! I am surprised at how many people are prepared to deny gays their human rights in India. How are gays a threat to anybody there in India? The opposite is the real case. What bullies! Leave them alone. Pick on some-one your own size and solve some of India's real problems.
When will Laloo be convicted of graft?By: Ram Prasad | Sunday , 5 Jul '09 16:43:24 PM Reply | Forward If there was any justice in India, Laloo would be serving life in prison for having robbed the country. Instead he gets to make derogatory comments about the gay community.Maybe the the supreme court could take this as a project, instead of dictating how the Australian government should take care of Indian students.
IMMORAL ?By: Kabirdas | Sunday , 5 Jul '09 16:43:21 PM Reply | Forward Religious views are made the basis to call a human behavior moral or immoral. However quite often such views have lost the original spirit of their own tenets which give birth to misplaced traditions and distorted common sense. Casteism, colonialism, materialism, religious intolerance and human prejudices are each an expression of such deviations. As our human challenges grow, we are looking to reform our tenets and beliefs from within. Gay sexuality is not too common anywhere yet has existed as long as humans have. Though found in a minority, like any sexuality, It is by birth and develops over time (acquired or fashionable gay behavior cannot be called gay in a true sense). Society need not fear them. Excessive sexual deviance of any kind can be a social concern but the indiduals should be encouraged to take them up themselves, not coerced through legal or social means. Gay issue is about diversity and the call to coexist with differences. Morality that is imposed is immoral.
