Heat on Patil, internal insecurity in his party

D k singh & J p yadav

New Delhi, September 15: In public, the Congress today stood squarely behind Home Minister Shivraj Patil but, in private, there’s apprehension within over the growing perception that the UPA is ineffective in the face of terror — and can’t be trusted with securing public safety. Shivraj PatilBy: Babuchandra | Tuesday , 16 Sep '08 7:02:19 AM Reply | Forward Shivraj Patil should resign immediately. He can not play with the lives of the innocent people. We need astrong government to route out terrorism.
Home MinisterBy: Dr.K.K.Ammannaya | Tuesday , 16 Sep '08 6:17:24 AM Reply | Forward I think Home Minister sri Shivaraj Patil need not resign.when high profile Advani was Home Minister major attacks including attack on parliament, aksharadham temple attack etc took place .Did he resign.he went on enjoying as Home Minister. He also went on making speeches which were non-sense.Why should a sober Patil resign.
Shivraj Patel not to quitBy: Jamsheed Basha | Tuesday , 16 Sep '08 5:39:33 AM Reply | Forward Shivraj Patel is under fire from within and outside for his inept handling of the Home Minstry. Lalu expressed his anguish at the handling of Delhi blasts and wanted a discussion by the Cabinet. He was short of calling for his resignation. In the meantime, BJP has called for his resignation. If this is the case, why Advani was not asked to tender resignation when so many blasts took place when he was the Home Minister? The hypocrisy of the BJP would not cut ice with the people. Patil may be soft spoken but what the Home Minister could do in this regard when the crux of the problem of terrorism has not been well understood by the parties. They are just trying to politicise the issue so that it can be a fodder for the next elections.Having failed to dislodge the Govt and saw Congress ratings soaring due to rare diplomatic success it achieved with NSG approval, the BJP was searching for an issue to outseat the UPA and blasts came handy for them. Instead of supporting the Govt, cashing in.
They all are worried about vote, not security or countryBy: Jatin | Tuesday , 16 Sep '08 2:56:42 AM Reply | Forward That’s what we are. Shivraj or other ministers, politicians are not coming from a different planet. They all just represent a typical Indian- backboneless, coward but greedy and who knows how to keep his job and get promotions without having any eligibility. In a country where we have practically destroyed all democratic institutions what else can we expect? I really feel sorry for people like APJ Kalam who still dare to dream that India can be a developed country, EVER. We never believe what he says but find an excellent excuse to fuel our baseless pride on our country and its future.
