New Delhi, November 15:: Matthew Hayden's comment about India being a "third world" country came in for a scathing attack from former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram who said the Australians have a habit of bad-mouthing their opponents whenever they lose. India the great.By: Indian | Monday , 17 Nov '08 13:41:32 PM Reply | Forward Why do we keep shouting this. Are we so affetcted by inferiority compex. Why Australians are not busy denying that their country is not behind us by 100 years. We willb equal when we give up our inferiority complex.
reBy: tilak | Monday , 17 Nov '08 14:57:47 PM Reply | Forward They would be using the worst language if they knew about this website. Why dont you read their comments on wwos.com.au on similar topics related to Indians and cricket . I bet you will sing a different tune then.
India - a developing Country!!By: lsundar | Monday , 17 Nov '08 10:05:21 AM Reply | Forward I do not think that we should react so angrily to Hayden's views. He may have done it as a matter of insulting Indiaand putting it on a back foot. . He is not Ok in that. But we hsould also introspect and realise what we are. We may be growing , may become a super power but the ground reality stays. We have no clean drinking water, no full time power ,no proper sanitation, no proper roards, horrible civic sense, and we can add on many more. This is not to be discouraging but we need to improve a lot before we are termed a developed country which may be many decades away. In the mean time we need get offended if we are termed as still developing(euphuism for third world country), and poor. we should strive to better the lot of all our countrymen as fast as possible instead of only talking about it. Jai Hind.
Hayden's commentsBy: burt lawrence | Monday , 17 Nov '08 9:36:53 AM Reply | Forward The Indian team outbowled, out batted and outshone the Aussies. Hayden should know this better than anyone, and if he does not then it proves that he is "as thick as a brick" passed his prime/bad sport and above all ignorant to boot. Now Mick Clarke and Bret Lee are the kind of players who make us proud to be Australian.Burt. Pialba.Qld.Aust
Hayden's Comment contd.By: Basu Bose | Monday , 17 Nov '08 8:13:43 AM Reply | Forward the talents of the new immigrants supporting your country. Go back to basics and learn something from other legendary cricketers including some Australians. Ponting's men have already disgraced cricket when India visited Australia and, yet overly keen to play IPL for bucks they will never see in their own backyard. Grow up kid and visit your mother country England to pick up some right attitudes
HaydenBy: Harish | Monday , 17 Nov '08 8:07:56 AM Reply | Forward Hyden is doen a great msitake by calling names to India. He is not welcome to India anymore .
HaydenBy: Kumar Nair | Monday , 17 Nov '08 1:32:58 AM Reply | Forward The Problem lies with ignorance including Wasim Akram. All these readers think that third world is third rate. That is not so. India is amongst the third world countries. There is nothing we can do about it
reBy: poohdarling | Monday , 17 Nov '08 2:39:47 AM Reply | Forward You need to read economic times to open up your closed brain. India is not a third world country but is a developing country its economic growth is higher than that of Australia. What do u mean there is nothing u can do -- lousy comment.I will suggest something to u, take a broom and sweep off the cobwebs off your brain .
AkramBy: Kumar Nair | Monday , 17 Nov '08 6:06:45 AM Reply | Forward Dont show your ignorance please. Indians do not call themselves third wiorld. It was westerners say. I suggest you travel abroad a little and then come back making ignorant statements
Third world countryBy: Raj | Sunday , 16 Nov '08 21:59:13 PM Reply | Forward Loosers Crib... but then this bugger will be returing back to play in IPL and earn money in a third world country. Australians were criminal and they will always remain criminal.
AkramBy: Kumar Nair | Monday , 17 Nov '08 6:08:54 AM Reply | Forward So what. He and many others make it exciting. An IPL with oly Indians would be like watching a Ranji Trophy match.
HAYDEN'S REMARKBy: ALOK CHAKRAVARTY | Sunday , 16 Nov '08 21:55:03 PM Reply | Forward I THANK AND APPRECIATE WASIM AKRAM FOR HIS BLOD CRITICISM AGAINST HAYDEN.
Hayden's commentBy: Basu Bose | Sunday , 16 Nov '08 20:19:25 PM Reply | Forward It's a typically Aussie attitude problem which after all these years still seems to retain some traces of who their forefathers were. Hey buddie, you are the ones who committed genocide of the aboriginal people and did very little compared with what the Canadians did to redress such crimes. And send a probe to the moon first even with all the resources that shored your economy from the Japanse, the Chineseand
Kudos to Wasim AKramBy: Abhishek | Sunday , 16 Nov '08 18:43:53 PM Reply | Forward Kudos to Wasim....who can be a better ambassador for India-Pakistan friendship than our Akram bhai.... Mr. wasim Akarm, you are held in high esteem by all the Indians...
