Karnataka CM blames Christian orgs for communal unrestBy: G Krishnamurthy | Monday , 13 Oct '08 22:01:08 PM Reply | Forward As Churchill remarked once, our politicians are made of straw. In Delhi, when a lady is killed while returning home at 3.30 AM, the Chief Minister blames her death on her 'adventurous' behavior. In Karnataka, attacks on Christians are blamed on Christians, not on the attackers. In Orissa, the Chief Minister blames rivalry between SC's and ST's for the forcible reconversions of Christians. In Maharashtra, the Chief Minister lets everyone attack non-Marathis for not having been born Marathi. What next from our politicians? Visas for each state? Foreign affairs for UP? Language tests to enter Mumbai?
correct analysisBy: sushil | Tuesday , 14 Oct '08 11:36:34 AM Reply | Forward very well said sir i fully agree with you.
We do not have even the basic to have a real secular democracyBy: Jay | Monday , 13 Oct '08 21:57:47 PM Reply | Forward Majority of Indian political parties and many so-called “intellectuals” prefer to blame Hindu fundamentalist organizations with slightest provocation but they always keep mum or tactically support Christian or Muslim activities of same degree or even for more dangerous religious fundamentalism. Indian Govt and most of the political parties fail to understand that “secularism” does not mean freedom to do (in public) whatever one feels like according to its own religious faith. Secularism means strict responsibility to implement (by Govt) and follow (by citizens) a common set of rules in public, irrespective of religion. Uniform civil code and unbiased law implementation is the very basic to have a real secular democracy and which is far too much to demand from our present political system. Unless that is implemented, no power in the earth can stop religious violence in India. In reality situation will worsen in future.
idiotsBy: simn | Monday , 13 Oct '08 21:34:02 PM Reply | Forward i challenge you hindus in india...to do this to muslims...what you have done to the christians and see the difference.....you know that the christians are easy targets cause they arent going to go militant...but you watch this genocide will one day spill over into the msulim community and that when India will crumble and Pakistan and china will rejoice...i am sure they must be doing so in pakistan already.....
disgustedBy: sriram | Monday , 13 Oct '08 21:26:25 PM Reply | Forward i weep for india that i love. I weep, cause people in my country think that rape and murder is a vehicle of justice. Whoever does these acts hindu, muslim, christian, jain, sikh are not human beings but animals. A state government that jsutifies the act is an even more pathetic siyuation. If there have been forced conversion, the evidence should be produced and a case made to the supreme court, banning conversions but rape
Finally!By: g kapuria | Monday , 13 Oct '08 21:15:38 PM Reply | Forward CM Yeddyurappa is absolutely correct. Why should only Hindus be responsible for keeping communal harmony? Why shouldn't we expect the Christians to play their part as well? The evangelicals are fully responsible for creating communal trouble by saying and publishing terrible lies about us Hindus and our Deities.
