Thiruvananthapuram: Under flak for his comments on slain NSG commando Sandeep Unnikrishnan's family, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan on Wednesday reversed his stand and expressed "deep sorrow and regret" over the pain caused to the officer's kins. Sorry!By: R.Balasundaram | Wednesday , 3 Dec '08 16:24:45 PM Reply | Forward The pressure built by the electronic media and others virtually forced the CM to say 'sorry'. No doubt his 'dog' remarks are condemnable; but what about the remarks/behaviour of the father of the deceased warrior? Is the age of the CM and his position immaterial?Let the media contemlate!
There is no comparisonBy: Vidya | Wednesday , 3 Dec '08 17:42:40 PM Reply | Forward Mr. Unnikrishnan has lost his only son. He did not invite the Kerala CM to come. So why should he entertain any one, even if it is a politician, during this time of grief. As I understand, sniffer dogs were brought to Mr. Unnikrishnan's house to prepare for the CM's visit. That angered the grieving father and he said that he did not want politician's dogs in his house. What was wrong with that? If the CM thinks that his remarks that there is no point in even dogs visiting families of soldiers until they are killed in combat is correct, then why is he apologising now? His sympathy was fake and now his apology is also fake.

Height of angerBy: arunnsubramanian | Wednesday , 3 Dec '08 16:24:42 PM Reply | Forward Country pays homage to the brave soldier. Irrepairable loss to the family and to the nation. No word can console the bereaved family. Nothing is lost whether the Kerala government honour him or not. Whether it was done immediately or belatedly. But the bereaved family may not have turned down an elderly man, 85 years of old, when he visited the house which is in another state.
A chuth apologyBy: Reddy | Wednesday , 3 Dec '08 15:57:39 PM Reply | Forward The "NUT" has apologized. But will it be accepted ?? I doubt it.He came to Sandeep's house only because there was pressure from the public and he promptly got kicked out from Unnikrishnan's house. Now he has apologised only because, again, the public threatened to kick his ass.DONT ACCEPT IT UNNI. YOU DONT HAVE TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS DOG.He might now get angry and call you a BITCH, because you did'nt accept his apology.Dont worry - we will take it with you. We are with you.

Idiot AchuthanandanBy: Ram Narayanan | Wednesday , 3 Dec '08 15:40:06 PM Reply | Forward This insensitive bloody fool should be kicked out and put in prison for his stupid remarks.
WASTE TO DIE FOR SUCH A COUNTRYBy: TT01 | Wednesday , 3 Dec '08 15:36:48 PM Reply | Forward Must be worried about his votes and upcoming election. Else he showed his true colors. It is waste to die for such a country who does not even care about it own soldiers and had such illiterate politicians. Let the country be taken over by others so the most to loose will be these politicians.
Kerala CM Achuthanandan finally says 'sorry'By: Syed Noor | Wednesday , 3 Dec '08 15:33:34 PM Reply | Forward Dear All,There is a way we can teach a lesson to our dirty and corrupt politicians. This is what one can do, in case one feels the candidates are not worth one's vote. Section 49(0) of the Representation of People's Act. There is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!Yes, such a feature is available, but obviously our seemingly intellectual leaders have never disclosed it.The electronic voting machines do not accommodate such votes. However, under Section 49(0) of the Representation of People's Act, the vote can be registered by telling the electoral officer to register it separately. This is how it works: 'if a candidate wins, say by 123 and that particular ward has received 'negative votes' (49(0)) more than 123, then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled.
no such provisionBy: Harshal | Wednesday , 3 Dec '08 15:55:04 PM Reply | Forward ^^^This is untrue. Please read today's DNA.
Unfortunate incidentBy: Suresh Kumar | Wednesday , 3 Dec '08 15:22:30 PM Reply | Forward VS is the least corrupt CM ,Kerala has in many years and he had done good things for the common man but the usage of word " Dog" was unfortunate, meanwhile the nobody seems to bother the filthy language used by Sandeeps's father during the CM's visit to his house, atleast he should have given some consideration for the CM's age
Kerela CM says'sorry"By: Ashis | Wednesday , 3 Dec '08 15:21:28 PM Reply | Forward The memory of the cute Major belongs not only to his family, but also to the nation. The politician in question should apolozise for his behaviour and comments not only to the Major's bereaved family, but also to the nation. And to prove that he is really sorry, he should step aside from his gubernatorial post. But, Alas! A Communist has no shame, no pity. Look at the behaviour of the band of communist politicians after the rape and killing a of ateen age girl in West Bengal. A communist expresses his regret only as a tactric. Once upon a time they depicted Subhash Chandra Bose as a pet dog of General Tojo. Remember what a veteran communist Dr. Ashok Mitra said, "I am not a gentlemen, I am a communist."
