LTTE a true friend of India: Tamil rebel leader

Colombo, November 21: : Asking India to withdraw all its military assistance to Sri Lankan forces against Tamil rebels, the LTTE has said the outfit was a "true" friend of New Delhi which must revoke the ban on it. But LTTE's demand for a separate homeland within the present geographical boundaries of Sri Lanka is not a formula that the Sri Lankan government can or should agree to. "True Friend of India". What a joke. LTTE is a terrorist organization. They introduced th world to suicide bombing and they are indeed the most efficient terrorist organization in the world. Except the geography of the country, the lack of support from India and the determination of the Sri Lankans this timearound hassealed their fate. India should simply keep out of it. The present actions of the Sri Lankan army will not resolve all problems but will greatly reduce the threat from this terrorist organization. We in India have our own problems to deal with. I hope we could do it as efficiently and with as much determination as the Sri Lankans.

Is it fair to ask to carve nation for 12% of the population, which country will allow this, ( In fact Sri Lanka is more than India in the case of kashmir, by allowing them total and full autonomy, what more they want?)if India is going to support their cause then watch out, there will be demand for some 200 nations within India, we can not play double game and double talk, one for Khalistan, another one for Assam a third one for Kashmir and a fourth one for Sindi nationalim etc. What did India do in the case od Sikkim? What did India do in the case of Tibet? What is India's view on Urgustan or Balukistan? Political espediency will back fire.

The Tamils in Sri Lanka are People of Indian Orign it is our sacred duty to help them to live with dignity in their place of birth. What the Sinhalese are doing is ethnic cleansing. The modern day Hitler Rajapakshe should be tried in court for causing the death and misery to humans. The so called Sinhalese who are abusing this form and are beating the drum for their ruler. Why in the first place you can see scores of Sri Lankan Tamils living and seeking as refugees world over? Is it due to the fair governance of the Sinhalese? These are the most cruel and treacherous people in our neighbour hood. One day they are going to bite Indias ear after the mission to kick all Indians out of the Sri Lnakan soil. It is a shame we send IPKF and now not interfering to stop this injustice. If cannot help them dont trouble them with military assistance.
to raviBy: don | Friday , 21 Nov '08 18:00:01 PM Reply | Forward i think you should get ur facts straight ravi...china is not a buddhist country...rather a majority of christians. no country helps another without having ulterior motives (take the US for example). what do you think china has to gain by helping sri lanka? better yet what do you think india has to lose without the ltte. dont stand somewhere else and talk as if you know the problem. tamils work in the city side by side with sri lankans in any position possible. so why the war and not coexist peacefully? i hate people who sit elsewhere and think they know the problem. why dont you shut up, buy a plane ticket to sri lanka and come see for yourselves. and india is such a huge and resourceful country i think they do quite well without being in cahoots with world known terrorists. get your facts straight ravi.

completely disagreeBy: don | Friday , 21 Nov '08 17:38:22 PM Reply | Forward i am a sri lankan who recently moved to the US. tamils and sinhalese people coexist in the city peacefully and both parties are fed up of this war. we are in a recession with high inflation because of this mess. why dont you do something constructive for the greater good of the country rather than try to split this island into 2? it will never happen so stop trying. i've had tamil friends since my childhood. so has my father. if you ask any tamil in colombo what they think of the ltte you will find out they want nothing to do with them. people in the north might be oppressed but what do you expect living in war torn territory?? 5 star luxury accomodation? and the ltte need to stop hiding around civilian areas since when the army targets them innocent civilians get hurt! next thing you know theres an article saying sl army kills innocent people! no more unfair guerilla tactics. if you want to fight..then fight clean.

Tamils/LTTE as a hedge against potential SL siding with China.By: Ravi | Friday , 21 Nov '08 17:26:05 PM Reply | Forward The danger to India is not from LTTE, but danger is from subtle cooperation between fake allies like Sri Lanka. SL is working against India's interest in aligning with China (Hey both are buddhist comarades!). India need to be aware of that, and cultivate appropriate friends. Having a tamil buffer place in northern srilanka will be a bargaining chip - Do not wait until SL allows Chinese missile bases in its soil to threaten India (This will happen - look at Gwadhar, look at Chinese cooperation with Myanmar, Bangladesh). Befriend the tamils of SL, Save them from Extinguishing, they will help India when in danger. History is not static, LTTE made a mistake by killing Rajiv to avenge "Indian Tamil Raping force". But for the sake of "India's secure border" we need to cultivate Tamils/LTTE as a hedge against potential SL siding with China. If by chance that happens, Tamils in SL will help India have a base there. I hope India will be proactive and intelligent at least this time.
