Obama needs some more lessons in Islam

The day before President Obama set off to win Muslim hearts and minds last week, I had an interesting conversation about Islam with a Lebanese gentleman and his wife. I met them at a discourse by an ex-Buddhist monk who smiled a lot and talked of happiness. It was when he said that all religion  ....Read more

Tavleen SinghBy: Asif Iqbal | Sunday , 7 Jun '09 9:33:54 AM Reply | Forward Mam' May peace be upon you.How easily you have presented the picture of all muslims that they are intolerant and stupid. COngratulations! this is the power of Pen. But this was your personnel opinion just like that lebanese couple. You are speaking of women rights as outdate. Tell me where you will draw the line. In todays world definition of medesty is keeps on changing. You may see the modesty in in nudeness in near future, where they swim in the black water swimming pool or the picture will be blured on your TV. I know you will not see as immodest but as sport. But where you draw the line. Our line has been drawn by our creator, who know best what is good for us and what is bad. Both Ms. Singh and Sudheendra have chosen President Obama's speech in Cairo, as the main subject of their weekly topic. It is true that not much will come out of this speech, as it has not been received well in some circles here in the U.S.A., and there is also suspicion in the Muslim world.

It would be a big favor to not just the Islamic world but to Indian Express readers as well. You articles express your frustration in life, they are inane and absolutely pathetically articulated.
He was constrainedBy: avinash mulye | Sunday , 7 Jun '09 5:54:03 AM Reply | Forward I think the president was constrained too much. They forewarned him not to lecture them. They are absolutely UNWILLING to listen to anyone who wants to tell them the truth. A sense of denial prevails pervasively in middle east.Who will tell them that whatever they have been doing in and against Israel is brutal too.
