Our nightmare, our wake-up call

How does a democracy of billion-plus people respond when a few madmen tear the heart out of its financial capital and shatter its soul? The question has to be asked because it is only adversity of such staggering magnitude that shakes up slumbering, old civilizations to turn it into an opportun  ....Read more

If no war with Pak, all citizens loose confidence in Democracy and this politicians, it's dangerousBy: Sarath | Friday , 28 Nov '08 18:40:15 PM Reply | Forward They should start thinking about how to make cleanse war with Pak to cleanup borders and pak afghan border, rather than thinking about holy honey moon with pak. Before that first close all Madarassas in India, or put in India in world auction, it;s better to live in British governance, rather than this spineless

PRIORITIRS TO LO9OT PEOPLEBy: Hoonaver Biju | Friday , 28 Nov '08 17:59:51 PM Reply | Forward Instead of dicussing aboout the future course of action to prevent reoccurance of terrorist mayhem, better point out to the people thoroghly ineffctiveness of the State and the Central Govt. Was is the duty of the Govts spending more than crorers of rupees every month for protection of the Ministers and their favorites who are corrupt to core like Amarsing,Thakerays,Lalloos.P)aswan,Sonia and her family to have called upon these forces to protecgt the innoceant peoplre.None of the Mini8sters in Maharshra or people likeRaj Thakeray and his clan to relieve their Black Cats for the duty for which theybv trained instead of attending upon these crooked and corrupt people.
Terror in MumbaiBy: Ramachandra G V | Friday , 28 Nov '08 17:53:51 PM Reply | Forward Only in India, it is easy to come in boats, fire indiscriminately at the people, enter the international level hotels and hold the inmates as hostages, that too by a handful of lunatics. That they have set up control rooms at these hotels and knew the layout clearly shows their planning for this attack. But, have we planned for how to face the future attacks? It is a big NO. We have suffered a lot previously, by these terrorists, all over the country and we are still in Kumbhkarna sleep. We look helplessly when our tourist centres are attacked by the terrorists. Once, the terrorists are killed / arrested, we forget about Terrorists and go for the dirty politics. May be other countries are laughing at us, at our weakness.
Our nightmare, wake up callBy: Steven | Friday , 28 Nov '08 17:51:05 PM Reply | Forward Top class and discerning write up from Mr. Gupta. Will our two natl parties atleast stop hurling accussion now on matters of National security. Zero level tolerance should apply to our local goons and groups like Bajrang dal and Raj Thackrays and modis... enough is enough... People will be better and will be in peace without these kind of people.... All violence against people should be dealt with sternly..
Mumbai Attacks - Wake up call for India!!By: writer | Friday , 28 Nov '08 17:34:12 PM Reply | Forward Forces outside India have been trying to destroy the peace of this country and they don't like India becoming a global power. They are the people who want to create unrest in India. In this testing times it is imperative, people of India don't succumb to the bad intentions of the terrorists. People of India should not become weak , we have to be calm. Indian politicians have done nothing for the security of the country. The country has gone through hell;so many terror attacks but politicians and so called protectors of our nation have not learnt anything out of this. A bunch of young boys have attacked Mumbai with the latest weapons and Indian intelligence has failed miserably. The security checks at the hotels, airports, malls and other places needs to be beefed up. We have seen even at the airports, the security checks are very poor and the security people seem to be so lethargic and laidback. As they say pen is mightier th
Mumbai Terror AttackBy: Payyans | Friday , 28 Nov '08 17:25:18 PM Reply | Forward As a citizen of this great country I salute the Martyrs who died battling the terrorists and pay tributes to the departed innocent souls. The attack in the heart of Mumbai is brazen and ruthless. This instance shows the extent to which the determined suicide squads of militant outfits can go to let loose death and horror. This is, no doubt, a wake up call for the contry. It is time to change from complacency to aggressive alertness to guard our people and our vital installations from any such attack in future. All of us should rise above all differences, religious, political, regional or any other, to defeat the evil designs of the enemies of our country.
Our nightmare, our wake-up callBy: avinash | Friday , 28 Nov '08 16:35:05 PM Reply | Forward It seems that you have let this government off quite cheaply. In my twenty-seven years of having become an adult and having watched the polity of this nation, I am yet to see a government more inept than this. And I do not see eye to eye with you when you say that we were looking quite good before this hostage crisis. I do not know of a single significant reform that this government has undertaken in these five years inspite of the prime minister and Mr. chidambaram both being economists. And as far as terrorism is concerned, its tackling of it has been pathetic. This time over, Manmohan Singh has failed the Nation.I also feel that this government literally invited terrorism when it did away with POTA. Terrorists interpreted it correctly as symbolic of a weak government and a soft attitude towards terror.
Breathtaking deceptionBy: DILIP/FRANCE | Friday , 28 Nov '08 16:31:02 PM Reply | Forward It is so nauseating and abhorrent to read your apologist irrational mumbo jumbo. This article is s slap on the face of the decent, lawabiding and hard working Indians.Insted of sheltering behind namby pamby politically correct hyperbole and mumbo jumbo, you could have come down heavily on Islamic terrorism that is on a crusade to degrade India and turn it into inhuman pogrom. Did you know after Iraq< India is the most bombed nation on this Earth? and the cuplrits are bigoted Jihadis. It is a well known fact that Islamo fascistnexus of Indian/Pakistani/Bangladesh nexus is at work to prevent India from becoming a major economic and military power. It is lamatable that so called intellectuals like you fail to conceive this simple dynamics.instead you embarked on appeasing the terrorist with your well known brand of bleating tosh.
Mumbai TerrorBy: Gulshan Kumar | Friday , 28 Nov '08 16:20:37 PM Reply | Forward The terrorist attack on goct shows the govt's poor goverance. Our political system is motivated for the sake of power and these politicans can really ineffective and working like professsional 'corporate companies' for Vote Bank politics based on religion/case/race. They should come up strongly and govt should talk strong
