Singur, October 4:: The overnight blockade of the Durgapur Expressway that runs beside the Tata Motors small car plant and railway lines at the nearby Kamarkundu railway station in Singur, was lifted at noon today, though the dawn to dusk bandh continued. CPI (M) supporters, who were demanding that the Tata Motors  ....Read more

Through out Mamata and CommunistsBy: Nilap Mishra | Saturday , 4 Oct '08 14:12:38 PM Reply | Forward The people of West Bengal should through out both CPI(M) and Trinamool in the next election if they want to progress. If they continue there will be only bundhs and no industry
SingurBy: VG | Saturday , 4 Oct '08 14:11:43 PM Reply | Forward These are games for politicians. They thrive on poverty. It is the comman man that has lost, like always.
Bandh to make capitalist work, Bongali communist is so prorgressibBy: Joy Bongal | Saturday , 4 Oct '08 14:08:26 PM Reply | Forward A bandh against closure, so that a capitalist can exploit peasants and worker. Bongal is progressibing so fast, the world can not keep pace with Bongalis. Joy Bampointh. Only in the land of Mutter Teresa, the wonder woman who cured leprosy by converting dying into Christianity can such miracles happen.

Nano ProtestBy: Nanda | Saturday , 4 Oct '08 11:35:37 AM Reply | Forward Let the farmers of Singur throw out Ms Mamta Banerjee from the state then only investors will think of investing in West Bengal
Nano ProtestBy: Hartej | Saturday , 4 Oct '08 14:11:38 PM Reply | Forward Everyone seems to be getting very emotional about the Singur situation. Here are some questions they should ask themselves before reacting.1. Could Mamata Banerjee have sustained a protest if she did not have some popular backing.2. What prevented Ratan Tata from speaking to the farmers directly. Other industrialists have dealt with farmers face-to-face successfully.3. Why didn't Ratan Tata accept the modified plan for land use as proposed by Mamata. Why the insistence on using land in a particular way only. Transporting some parts a few hundred metres wouldn't have added to his costsdrastically.4. Why should industrialists expect people to be thrown off their land and give up a way of life by offering mythical promises to state governments. They always want concessions, but are they prepared to share their profits with those whose land they have taken over.5. The Tata's shifting to another state will mean another set of farmers will be displaced. No sensible person is against development, it has to be done equitably. The poor cannot be made poorer, to make an industrialist richer.
Tata Nano plant at singurBy: shastri | Saturday , 4 Oct '08 11:11:30 AM Reply | Forward With a Street fighter Mamta in West Bengal no development can ever take place in West Bengal. The whole Indian community overseas watch India with their heads hung in shame when we have anti social elements like Mamta not allowing any development. Govt.needs to deal with such people more severely. Why can't West Bengal and Kerala take cue from China when it comes to industrialisation. For West Bengalis one bundle of Beedi and an old Lungi is enough for their whole life and want no development at all. A zero watt bulb lit their house is enough all through their life. With this lifestyle when can West Bengal in particular and India in general come to senses.
two sidesBy: M.Lakshmanan | Saturday , 4 Oct '08 10:17:02 AM Reply | Forward There are two sides always...
Protest.....By: Basant | Saturday , 4 Oct '08 9:56:42 AM Reply | Forward They should protest in front of Mamta and Amar Singh house not in Singur. That stupit lady has ruined people life for some votes.
MamthaBy: mohan | Saturday , 4 Oct '08 12:51:51 PM Reply | Forward I agree. Ms. Mamtha Banerjee has done the people of Singur a disservice of the highest order. The people of Singur will suffer. Politicians will not suffer in any way, their pockets are lined and stomachs full. What do they care for the poor, the hungry and the Country?? Nothing. They will do anything for the sake of votes. History and the people of Singur will judge her harsly, not that she cares.
WE THE PEOPLE ARE PUPPETBy: Kannan | Saturday , 4 Oct '08 12:49:47 PM Reply | Forward Sorry guys!! you are too late. You sat on fence watching your fortune slip out of your hand and now the game is over. You will be again used by CPM and TMC,albeit in different form, as they never had anythng to loose.
