Raj challenges Mumbai’s top cop over his comments

Mumbai, September 11: After Amitabh Bachchan’s apology on behalf of his wife Jaya, Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray today withdrew his agitation against the Bachchan family and found a new target: Mumbai’s Joint Commissioner of Police K L Prasad. Prasad said on Wednesday that “Mumbai kisi ke  ....Read more

A Simple QuestionBy: rajan | Thursday , 18 Sep '08 14:30:38 PM Reply | Forward One who can't respect their national language(hindi) how you may expect from him that he will respect mother tounge (marathi) - This is only a political game, he paid to some channels for cheap publicity, so it the people who has to teach him a lesson !
RAJ THACKERYBy: MADHU AGA | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 22:48:17 PM Reply | Forward RAJ THACKERY IS A MAN WITH NO HONOUR.HE HAS LOST HIS MARBLES .THE MEDIA IS JUST AS GUILTY AS THIS MAD MAN FROM MAHARASHTRA. THIS CHAP HAS BROKEN EVERY RULE OF THE LAW.I CANT IMAGINE THE PRESS IS CLICKING THEIR CAMERAS FOR RAJ'S PICTURES.THIS IS WHAT THIS GUY WANTS FREE PUBLICITY TO GET ELECTED.HE IS CHALLENGING THE POLICE IS A BIG JOKE. RAJ SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON THE TERROR ATTACKERS WILL THEN ONLY SHOW SIGNS OF LEADERSHIP. RAJ DOES NOT HAVE THE MUSCLE TO FIGHT THE TERRORISTS.IF HE IS HALF A MAN HE WILL GO AFTER THE TERRORISTS AND NOT THE PEACE LOVING CITIZENS OF THE STATE. THIS MAN IS A TRAITOR AND SHOULD BE CHARGED FOR TREASON FOR PROMOTING HATRED .POLICE SHOULD STAND FIRM AGAINST HIM AND PRESS CHARGES AGAINST RAJ FOR PROMOTING COMMUNAL HATRED DISTURBING THE PEACE OF THE STATE.I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY CHARGES HAVE NOT NOT BEEN LAID AGAINST HIM AND ALLOWING HIM TO CONTINUE ON SHAMEFULLY WITH HIS RAMPAGES OF HOSTILITY TOWARDS NON MARATHIS.HE IS NO LESS THAN THE JIHADI FANATICS.
Prasad spoke the truthBy: Serena | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 9:38:44 AM Reply | Forward KL Prasad has spoken the truth. He must be lauded for his comments. It is the MNS who must be prosecuted for their acts of terror. It is strange that MNS does not have the guts to seek legal redress for their perceived anti Marathi grievances, but have no hesitation in filing silly PIL against a police officer who spoke the truth. MNS is not the guardian of Mumbai, Marathi, Maharashtrians or Maharashtra, and certainly Mumbai kissi ka baap ka naheen. Sab ka baap ka hai!

Raj ThackerayBy: Subhash | Tuesday , 16 Sep '08 8:44:19 AM Reply | Forward Raj Thackeray is a street goon who with his brigands is increasingly holding the city of Mumbai to ransom. The Mumbai police ought to treat him like the 'Don' he is trying to become. He is supposedly heading a 'political' party. Is this the acceptable conduct of a political party;the election commission should de-recognise his party. What are the Maharashtra home minister and Mr Shivraj Patil doing about this menace. These are only questions without any answers.
Hindi Language ZindabadBy: Faiz Hakim | Monday , 15 Sep '08 23:12:39 PM Reply | Forward I am also disppointed to hear people turn around and insult Maharshtra because of Raj Thackeray. Maharashtra is one of the more succesful states in the Union of India because of its relatively cleaner politics, location, natural bounty, enterprising people, better administration, better police force, control of media, etc. We need to admire and emulate them. Also Maharashtrians have every right to pass local ordinance that requires display of signs in Marathi for instance but the penalty for not doing so at worst should be a fine or loss of buisness license. But the law should be so constructed that it should not prevent the display of signs in other languages if people so choose. And any disobedience should should lead to legal proceedings and not the mayhem recently witnessed. People need to honor the sentiments of the local population and the locals need to acknowledge that there is a greater India around them. Why is this such a difficult concept to understand?
Amitabh in Mumbai and Jaya in UPBy: Faiz Hakim | Monday , 15 Sep '08 22:34:00 PM Reply | Forward I am disappointed to see comments regarding throwing out individuals from a state within the Union of India. Is India not a single country and is Jaya not it's citizen? If the answer to these questions are in the affirmative then the Constitution should rule supreme. Even if Jaya were to insult Marathi/Maharashtra, which she did not, she has as much right to live in Maharashtra as her husband Amitabh does, or for that matter Raj/Bal Thackeray do. If Jaya has broken a law then prosecute her, but the days when people could be "banished" based on a ruler's "Farman" are past. Even if she were not a Citizen of India and faced possible deportation, in a civil society she would be eligible for due legal process. But as a Citizen of this country she should be able to choose where she lives, how she lives and what she says. I hope we Indians learn to support these basic foundations of a Free Society that we claim to be so proud of but obviously do not fully comprehend. Jai Hind.
Amitabh in Mumbai and Jaya in UPBy: Dudhwala Bhaiya | Tuesday , 16 Sep '08 5:42:52 AM Reply | Forward Faiz Bhai I wrote this line because of Jaya this issue started. look at the recordings when she spoke this and the way she laughed. it is not appropriate to do such nonsense by wife of a personality "Amitabhji" who we all respect including all Marathis. Regards
Mr Raj ThackerayBy: Indian | Monday , 15 Sep '08 22:23:16 PM Reply | Forward Can Mr. Raj So Called Thackeray.. have something to say about the events happening in India... I can bet that he must be hiding in the mouse hole by now.. . If he feels Mumbai is his own property then instead of destroying public property he should be finding out the culprits and give them max punishment which he will never do as it might harm the political profile. Hope he gets some brains to help the city instead of asking his Uneducated followers ruin the city
