No one disputes that the local language should also be used, but Raj Thackeray (what's with the Anglicised, non-Marathi spelling of the surname, by the way?) has absolutely no constitutional power to enforce it, least of all through violent means. The power of enforcement and implementation belongs to the BMC for local and the state government for state matters. Many hoped he would be a visionary with a new party, practising the mature politics of inclusion. What a disappointment! His is the tired politics of hate, division and destruction, and his partymen, typical of cowards, goes after soft, unarmed targets like shops and cabbies. Who is denying them the right to also drive cabs, appear for railway job exams and work as carpenters, labourers and traders? Let them get jobs on merit and for heaven's sake, let them get a life beyond smashing shop windows and tarring cinema posters.

You stupid for your information first hindi movie and pioneer of Hindi film industry is " Mr dadasaheb falke" who was marathi. Sachin Tendulakar , Sunil gavaskar, Lata mangeshkar , Madhuri Dixit, Rajnikant are from Maharashtra so without outsiders also we can grow , but we don't have any problem to welcome them and grow with us. but at the same time like in south indian languages marathi also should be respected. It is one of main indian language which should be restored. Should not be used as Fun by Jaya Bhaduri who is my favorite actress from childhood.My whole family is Amitabh's fan as well I support marathi should be respected.First olympic medal won by indian is Khashaba Jadhav is Marathi fromrural area of Maharashtra.
