Lara is real great who played for his country and not for records. Look at when he retired. he was capable of scoring a few thousand more runs but did not care even to score 46 more to become first person to to score 12k. Sachin on the other hand has been crawling since a few years just fdor the records. There is no match between Lara and sachin or even Ponting is better than sachin. Ponting has better run average than him, more wins than sachin and will become highest run getter and centurian in style and not by crawling with the help of selectors.

Every year how many new players are coming?? Can we count?? How many are in team?? What about there fitness?/ Is there any one who will take the place of Sachin?? I do not even know why I am responding to these retards. Sachin rocks, he may have had few bad years but he is in the team on the basis of his performance. What youngsters are we talking about, yuvraj/Kaif(next captain). I think Dhoni is the only shinning youngster. Others are all average fillers.

One poor performance in Srilanka, and some people get enough reasons to criticize his entire career. How do you compare Lara with Sachin in one days cricket? Nobody is saying Sachin is better than Lara in Test cricket. The news is Sachin broke Lara's record. The average of Sachin, although less than Lara's, is much higher than most of the players you can remember.

It is similar to Indian public going ga ga over Kapil Dev "breaking" Sir Richard Hadlee's record in 131 test matches. Sir Richard had reached 431 wickets in only 86 test matches.

Lara has scored 11.953 in 131 tests whereas Tendulkar has crossed this figure in 153 tests. Therefore, his average is low. Moreover, Lara has played for 17 years whereas Tendulkar has played for 20 years. In my opinion Lara is still better than Tendulkar and his record is not broken.

Look he retired when he was at his best and needed only 47 runs to cross 12K but he did not care for that record. Imagin a crawling sachin since two years just to go past Lara's record. If you don't factor in such components to decide a clear winner, you are doing a faulty analysis.

Look at the number of innings and average. Sachin took 246 compared to Lara's 232 innings. Sachin has remained notout 25 times but Lara only 6 times. Probably now you can shut your mouth and just enjoy his game.
