Huge banners with messages from some of Satyam's 53,000 staff and their hand imprints have been put u  ....Read more

Satyam?By: raj | Tuesday , 13 Jan '09 2:05:22 AM Reply | Forward This corporate catastophe is only the "tip of the iceberg".Given the strong nexus that exists between the business community, law and order(if there is any!!) and the political leaders, there are probably hundreds and thousands of such fradulent businesses all over India....no one wants to be held accountable and people always want to buy out the legal system with the help of police and politics...same has happened in 60 years and even more so now...

Business ethics and Personal integrityBy: Sai Prasad | Monday , 12 Jan '09 14:18:10 PM Reply | Forward Raju's case is a sample in today's society with eroding values and ethics. How ever, when persons politicians, business tycoons, etc handling wealth or power of larger magnitude like behave irresponsibly, the repurcussions are also of enormous magnitude like the Satyam Tsunami. It is time for each and every individual to introspect before pointing their finger at Raju.
IT staffBy: sundar | Sunday , 11 Jan '09 14:38:21 PM Reply | Forward This is a lesson for all IT employees. any company will suddenly vanish in one day. IT people should save for their future. because of their spending habits 1) they put themselves in trouble and 2) problem for lesser paid disciplines also. i know many IT people spend lavishly. it is time to cut. in one way they also following in micro level what satyam did.
Calling Raju disgraced is like calling "India" disgracedBy: Pritesh Sheth | Sunday , 11 Jan '09 13:00:23 PM Reply | Forward My question to people of India is that whom are we calling disgraced "Satyam chairman-Mr Raju" or "India"? Who is responsible for Satyam's downfall? No, I dont think Mr Raju solely is responsible for this. It is auditors, politicians and people taking bribes who are responsible for this whole act. Ofcourse, Mr Raju's greediness has let him take the unethical actions but I firmly believe if malpractices like bribery could have been stopped, there is no way that Raju could have taken this unethical step. He has cheated the company and its employees but I dont think the interests were personal.I am sure if sincere investigation is done in all the companies in India no companies will be left graceful. Disgrace is a harsh word and should not be used to represnt Entrepreneur like Raju who had conscience to admit his mistakes. There are lots of high profile politicians whose names should be used to prefix the word "disgrace".
feel sorry for rajuBy: n.manivasaham | Sunday , 11 Jan '09 8:56:47 AM Reply | Forward emotions are running high and everybody is calling raju fraudster, cheat and whatnot!but wait a minute- he has been the king of it sector for over 2 decades and paying huge salaries to 50000 employees.think of the pressure of the job and the amount of competetion he had to face to survive.it is not easy to take all decisions on ones own at such level and he must have relied upon the advises of his staff. may be he took one wrong step at some point and it had a cascading effect which put him in this mess.i do not think a man who writes such an open letter and who does not even ask for hospitalisation while suffering such high blood pressure a born cheat.he was such a foresighted man as to be able to see the upcoming IT era even before all the others in the 1980s,he could have fleeced the company at much better times.it is easy to spit venum when emotions are running high, but let time tell the entire story of this affair, then all of us will join to either punish or praise this man.
Employees will reinvent SatyamBy: Ramanujam Chary | Saturday , 10 Jan '09 19:40:32 PM Reply | Forward Indian IT companies have all been built by IT services professionals - not by any board. So Satyamites, who have have an unblemished track record of deliveries spanning 2 decades have nothing to be ashamed off - and they must believe in themselves - it is they who will turn Satyam around (perhaps in a new avtar). And this time, they will take it to greater heights then ever before. Be patient - stand united - don't get frustrated. (I don't work for Satyam, but can understand exactly how you guys feel.)
Be proud SatyamitesBy: Ramanujam Chary | Saturday , 10 Jan '09 19:24:54 PM Reply | Forward Satyam has 2 decades of deliveries to demanding clients behind it. This is possible only with a very competent and professional employee base. And this is the only reason this financial scam by Raju did not surface earlier - because the deliveries to clients were never compromised. India and the world must therefore separate Satyam the IT services provider from the financial fraud committed by Raju. And its employees must stand united and proud as they have no part in this fraud - nor have they benefitted from it in any way. In this regard, the employees showing unity is commendable. Please don't get frustrated, and please stick it out for a few more months. Help is coming in the form of industry leaders joining the Satyam board - Satyam will be back - rid of the Raju's and stronger for living through this crisis. Even a century back, Thomas Edison - founder of GE had to be thrown out of GE as he was no good at management, however great an inventor he may have been. Take heart Satyam.
Raju's SatyaBy: R.Krishnan | Saturday , 10 Jan '09 17:28:29 PM Reply | Forward Raju and his family's courage has to be appreciated. He not only confessed in writing, but also did not flee the country, which was quite easy for him. He surrendered to the police and appears to be ready to face the consequences. His family will be facing a lot of embarrassments, but it looks they are ready to pay the price for all what happened. I am sure that all this will go in favour of Raju, when court proceedings will start on him. At the face of it, things look that Raju did not do all this intentionally and became a victim of circumstances. Had he succeeded in the merger of Maytas, this would have never come out, and we would have been all be proud of Satyam. It is beyond any doubt that such an operation could have been carried on without the patronage of politicians, financial institutions and the Audit companies, apart from the other directors. All have to be held accountable and watch out for any other Raju emerging in this corporate world.
