Vigorous,.... but FairBy: SMSingru | Tuesday , 16 Sep '08 19:29:16 PM Reply | Forward Though there is no doubt that our anti-terror mechanism has to be invigorated, let us not get carried away into having a system which denies basic justice and fairness to suspects. Not to do so would be to assume that our police are entirely fair and beyond corruption or prejudice, which is not true. In our legitimate zeal to stop the unsprovoked bloodshed to which the terrorists are subjecting us, let us not loose our basic constitutional orientation, because this is precisely what the terrorists are provoking us to do. Let us have stringent laws, but with well defined provisions to avoid persecution of the innocent. And for God's sake, let us have intelligence inputs which are far better than the present ones.
URGENT NEED FOR POWERFUL ANTI-TERROR LAWS By: Arun | Tuesday , 16 Sep '08 18:41:35 PM Reply | Forward Urgent sweeping changes in the existing anti- terror legislations are a must to deal firmly and severely to wipe out terrorism of any kind. Secularism does not mean a free hand for the profane external forces to impose colonial type of domination over the country. The government s at the Centre and States and all the political parties need to address the issue of terrorism as a ‘serious national issue ’ not as a political issue for selfish purposes to win elections. Major establishments of the country need to get on with the task relentlessly to annihilate the originators of terror who are blatantly callous cold-blooded murderers.
