BCCI should give ICL players a second chance

So there will be no ICL this March and while it might be too early to write the obituary of a patient it seems the doctors have been summoned. Hopefully there will be no celebration in the other camp for another door has just been shut on several fine young men who followed their instinct, in t  ....Read more

BCCI is the guilty not the ICLBy: Abhinav | Monday , 2 Mar '09 20:01:55 PM Reply | Forward Just ask the BCCI to lift the unethical ban on the players from playing domestic cricket. None of the ICL players will not ask for a second chance. Guilty are not the players but BCCI. Ask Modi to face the competition fair and square and then see the difference. And yes wait for the IPL broadcast this year to judge its success or failure.
tripe!By: Venkat | Friday , 20 Feb '09 20:28:51 PM Reply | Forward guilty? misjudgement? redemption? what nonsense? the BCCI is only supposed to *administer* cricket, NOT monopolize it.they take the ICL idea, prostitute it, change ONE letter in the abbreviated name and start strutting around like they own the world. and instead of lampooning them unoriginal excuses for administrators, you, Harsha, are sitting on their side of the fence?or are you afraid that you'll be banned from commentary if you speak for the ICL?
Pawar is proxy presidentBy: Gagan | Monday , 16 Feb '09 22:29:27 PM Reply | Forward that commenter has to note that Pawar is no longer the BCCI president and grow up.......Well..Pawar is like Sonia Gandhi..He is the one who runs the show n that Manohar guy just works for him..If you don't know that mate, your knowledge is pretty bad..We all know about Modi's past and deeds. Now that an FIR has been lodged against him,let these so called cricket gurus come in open n write about it..I don't think ICL people committed any crime.IPL was born coz of ICL..If there had been no ICL,we wouldn't have seen IPL..n mate, next time please done ever say that Pawar is not the president..I don't think Pawar himself will like that
Harsh(a) realitiesBy: Sekhar | Monday , 16 Feb '09 14:50:11 PM Reply | Forward Modi's puppet ?Looks like my fellow commenter hasn't bothered to read the post before commenting. What has Modi got to do with the fact that Harsha is Mumbai's advisor? It might have been the decision of Tendulkar,Rajput and Mukesh Ambani. Soon after the ICL was launched,I remember,Harsha had an article in this very same space describing what ICL should do to be successful. So please note that Harsha is not indulging in Pawar-play or Modi-tva.(that commenter has to note that Pawar is no longer the BCCI president and grow up)Coming to the post,at the launch of the IPL (in 2007) Pawar said that international players from ICL are welcome in IPL. I am sure that if Shane Bond were to give up the ICL and move to IPL,there would be takers from some franchisee or the other waiting to lap him up. I only wish the same is extended to the poor Indian "rebels"
ICL Guys deserve a break!!By: Jagdeep Singh | Sunday , 15 Feb '09 16:26:53 PM Reply | Forward Great Comments, as ever, from the ONLY Commentator worth listening to in todays day and age, where every TOM, DICK and HARRY is a cricket critic. I have admired Lalit Modi for revolunising cricket. My respect would be quadrupaled if we would just do the right thing by Indian cricket. Give the ICL lads a break. They have'nt commited any crime other than think of their own careers. Lalit, come on be large hearted. You it owe to Indian cricket.
Modi's puppetBy: Gagan | Sunday , 15 Feb '09 15:27:57 PM Reply | Forward Harsha, you were the best commentator when you started out.I used to love your commentary. But now you have become Lalit Modi's puppet. You do and say whatever those idiots like Modi n Pawar ask you to.Just today an FIR has been lodged up against Modi..Now you won't have anything to write about that and you guys(including Shastri and Gavaskar)will defend Modi.I wish you would become independent like English commentators who are not afraid of anything. If you always have to praise BCCI and Modi, its better you stop writing
reBy: nadeem | Saturday , 14 Feb '09 14:37:22 PM Reply | Forward its a well written article only the tone is slightly misappropriate,i feel, especially i dont agree with your use of word 'atonement' in the last paragraph as you yourself mentioned that they have not committed any crime.BCCI need not to show any magnanimityinstead they shoudl abide by the laws of the land and do not ban people from free trade of their skills, which is perfectly legal.
Boring.....By: Assad | Friday , 13 Feb '09 23:40:42 PM Reply | Forward What a terrible article...Harsha your articles are as shallow and as uninspiring as your commentary....
