BJP consults stars before key meet

Bangalore, September 11:: BJP, making desperate attempts to come back to power at the Centre, is going by the stars and planetary positions, to ensure that a key conclave beginning in Bangalore, on Friday brings good luck. Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, an astrology enthusiast, has taken extra pains to avoid   ....Read more

Why Single BJPBy: C Paddy | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 9:44:27 AM Reply | Forward Truth is that every single party believes in astrology. The Congress leaders are the most ardent practicioners and most have in-house astrologers guiding them. However they are very discrete and silent about it. Why India, even abroad most of the discerning do consult astrologers for an auspicious time when doing something of importance to them.Is this a paranoi ? BJP ?
give proof plsBy: naveen | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 17:13:00 PM Reply | Forward do u have any proof of cong leaders being ardent followers of astrlogy????

count stars?By: shaffi | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 14:08:14 PM Reply | Forward funny to hear this as a party relying on stars for their luck. where s their deeds, courage, inspiration, and more over their commitment to the nation as individuals. Only a partys commitment to the nation and ther future programmes to lead the country in a patriotic way can bring success to a party not the stars. What will the politicians do in time of emergency of our country, will they be counsulting astrolegers and count stars. then why not astrolergers rulke the country.please be practical...........
ThugsBy: Rajiv Kumar | Thursday , 11 Sep '08 19:56:08 PM Reply | Forward What do you expect from thugs?
Good GoingBy: KK Singh | Thursday , 11 Sep '08 19:52:35 PM Reply | Forward Good going. But they should not make a fool of themselves by commenting on complicated topics such as the N-deal. They should try to lay down a vision for India mainly focusing on eradication of poverty and creating job growth.
Astrology does not harm, but unfortunately 'both' parties launch on auspicious datesBy: Balumuthu | Thursday , 11 Sep '08 19:10:17 PM Reply | Forward There is no politician in India venture to launch political projects or make his daily moves in his own party or visavis another party, be it a poll propaganda campaign, answering a horse trading call, or less mentionably, design a government contract participation using frontmen, etc. - NONE OF THESE HE WILL RESOLVE TO DO WITHOUT CONSULTING HIS TRUSTED ASTROLOGER as regards the timing, and maybe, propitiation of his chosen deities. Astrology helps one to approach what he wants to with solemnity of resolve and hope of success. Unfortunately, in the nature of things, his opponents do also likewise. Anyway, astrology does not harm anybody, and belief in it is akin to belief in a supreme self commanding all nature including time and space, and often people with some vague idea of themselves being atheists, too, have more belief in astrology than disbelief in the God he pretends to dislike.
Opportunistic local partiesBy: V Ram | Thursday , 11 Sep '08 19:09:39 PM Reply | Forward TDP is a force of past and cheeranjivi 's party will replace it. Chandrababu is teh biggest hypocrite/opportunist and will join hands with anybody/any time if it is suitable to win elections and get power. So stop talking about TDP and its aversion to BJP/Advani etc..In fact all small parties (as demonstrated by our corrupt humble Gowda's JDS ) join hands with anybody to share the kill! If the election laws are changed such that a candidate should get >50% of votes (if necessary through runup process) all these jokers including communists will be out of the system and there will be more stable and representative Govt. Anfd that will put an end to parties harping on caste/religion vote banks..Will these opportunists allow this?
Is this a news?By: Anon | Thursday , 11 Sep '08 17:20:48 PM Reply | Forward Who has written this stupid story? What does it finally convey? Most people in the South avoid the Rahu Kalam, the Karnataka CM is no spectacular exception.
StarsBy: Rammohan | Thursday , 11 Sep '08 16:06:04 PM Reply | Forward It seems Abhinav and Saisi had allready made the prediction that BJP will lose the election. The vote in Parliament was not only for 123 deal but also foir the support fo the government. Do any sensible person can support this current goverment of soem jokers. It is not necessary to support a murder punished to be elevated to CM chair to keep the PM chair. The result fo the next election is long way to go. How about in the true spirit fo democracy congress nominate their candiadte as well as the so called third front so that we can see the abilities of each before hand.Rammohan
BJP consults stars before key meetBy: Abhinav | Thursday , 11 Sep '08 16:17:28 PM Reply | Forward You are drawing wrong conclusions from my post. I am saying they can come back to power, provided they do not repeat the mistakes they did. You think naming Advani as PM candidate is a good move? If anything, it has alienated parties like TDP from NDA, because everyone knows the hardcore LKA can't keep coalition going even if they manage to get the numbers. As for PM candidate of UPA, isn't it obvious now? The so-called third front died even before it was born; Didn't you see Karat's statement that he is seeking only electoral alliances and no front as such.
BJP consults stars before key meetBy: Abhinav | Thursday , 11 Sep '08 15:18:31 PM Reply | Forward The 'party with a difference' can come back to power only when it tries to learn from its mistakes, and not by consulting astrologers. The fact is that, today's voter, because of advances in the communication, is always aware of all moves made by the political parties and any average citizen is able to draw his own conclusions. BJP's opportunistic opposition to the nuclear deal, the tamasha called cash-for-vote and their inability to pursue it to its logical conclusion, if what they say is true, all have given a bad image to it. Had they taken a clear stand on the deal, and stood by it instead of trying to pull down the Govt. at all costs, people would have respected it much more. BJP minus Vajpayee; minus TDP; anti-incumbency factor in States ruled by it; the dubious leadership of LK Advani, no charismatic crowd-pullers; inability to draw votes of minorities and lower castes in large numbers; the dubious brahmin-bania support base etc. makes it very vulnerable. Very tough indeed!
Get the caste worm out of your systemBy: Dev Kumar Dutta | Thursday , 11 Sep '08 19:03:03 PM Reply | Forward I'm neither a Brahmin nor Bania, just a Hindu, but I object to this statement about a "dubious Brahmin-Bania support base". Also, your conclusion "very tough indeed" is 80% based on the hope of anti-incumbancy factor. But Gujarat tells a different story doesn't it? and yes, LKA isn't the only leader of national standing in the BJP, there are many others.
