Black hole logic

If you are reading this, it is likely that the world has not yet been swallowed up by an accidental black hole. When, at 1 pm IST, the Large Hadron Collider was switched on at the EU’s giant laboratory for particle physics research, the fear that the accelerating streams of protons inside the c  ....Read more

black hole logicBy: Nik | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 12:34:59 PM Reply | Forward Hi all they are not busy hey are wasting time in hole, they dont know how earth created dont know how human being made how diffrent animals are their on earth(few animals in water still not seen by many) they are not through in existing world but they want to know future great present it self is dark want to know future weldone bravo great work
black hole logicBy: Rajiv | Tuesday , 16 Sep '08 17:25:50 PM Reply | Forward "overestimating the danger of small-probability events, a reflex belief that science would happily sacrifice safety to progress "with whose permission are they taking that risk ? there is a small probability we can be wiped out of existence ....hmmm....but lets ignore that an create a black hole so if we are swallowed by it we can all die happily knowing we were able to create a black hole ? these are mad scientists who are only focused on what they do and choose to ignore the consequences.
BLACK HOLE LOGIC -PRALYA?By: Vinod Tuli | Tuesday , 16 Sep '08 10:34:30 AM Reply | Forward A lot has happened during the past one month around the world and India too like Pay Commission Bonanza of NSG and 123 agreements etc. 10th SEPTEMBER (remember 9/11 which changed the definition of terrorism). It is worth noting that the present much hyped phobia was used by Indian electronic media for raising their TRP ratings like vote bank strategy of the politicians. This can well be compared to the prophecy of GEORGE ORWELL QUOTING DOUBLE SPEAK, BIG BROTHER and TELESCREENS ET ALL, WRITTEN IN HIS FAMOUS NOVEL 1984 PUBLISHED IN LATE 1940s. The India born renowned author died in 1949. ‘PERHAPS HIS CALCULATIONS WENT WRONG SOMEWHERE AS HE PREDICTED A YEAR 24 YEARS EARLIER OF WHATEVER PHENOMENON WE MAY CALL IT NOW’. At the same time shocking was the euphoria shown by our vernacular TV channels lapped by the people adding to the confusion and increasing the FEAR PYSOCHOSIS of the poor half educated Indians of the day. Mera desh MAHAN? Vinod Tuli.
Large Hadron Collider TESTBy: Vinay Shah | Monday , 15 Sep '08 17:39:59 PM Reply | Forward keep people updated every day about progress of the test as a special NEWS in you paper. As this is defintly very very huge test by people on earth. Thanks.
plz dnt,,,,By: jai | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 22:12:19 PM Reply | Forward why r this scientist so much eager to put an exclamation mark behind our planet? why cant they focus on humanity as their r so many issues to deal with like AIDS?
THE BIGGEST PROBLEMBy: P S MENON | Saturday , 13 Sep '08 18:13:12 PM Reply | Forward HI ALL - WHY ARE WE ALL TRYING TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE BIG BANG WHEN WE HAVE AT HAND THE LARGEST PROBLEM OF POVERTY AND SICKNESS IN SO MANY NATIONS - WHY CANT WE MAKE THIS EARTH A PEACEFUL AND HAPPY PLACE TO LIVE AND THEN TRY TO FIND THE ORIGIN. ARE WE NOT WASTING MONEY AND TIME WHEN THIS CAN BE PUT TO USE TO ERADICATE POVERTY IN SEVERAL COUNTRIES??
No problem of blackholesBy: Rohit | Friday , 12 Sep '08 11:03:54 AM Reply | Forward The problem with doomsday sayers is that they are either very cunning or plain ignorant or both - the last being the most dangerous. And the problem with media (especially TV channels) is that they find what the doomsday sayers talk as interesting science (i.e., which gets more TRP and viewership) and real science as ordinary stuff. So the BS gets a lot of air time and taht only spawns more confusion.
abt harmBy: sandesh | Thursday , 11 Sep '08 11:54:00 AM Reply | Forward sir,i want to say that if the protons speed become equal to the speed of light then the mass of proton will increase to infinity. A small mistake cause large problem to the Earth because mass of proton will become equal or greater than the Earth . if the proton receive that much of speed there may be chance of colliding with the wall of tube and may be able to burst the walls .
That's not trueBy: Rohit | Friday , 12 Sep '08 10:59:11 AM Reply | Forward Protons can never attain the speed of light and their mass will not become infinite. And rest assured even at 99.9% the speed of light a proton will not burst out of the accelerator's walls.
Safety?By: JTankers | Thursday , 11 Sep '08 8:42:34 AM Reply | Forward You write "high-energy reactions take place all the time in space around us without causing Armageddons."This is what LSAG wrote in March:"While it is true that a BH produced by cosmic rays would not be stopped by the Earth, there are many other "things" in the universe that could trap such CR-produced BH's, thus leading to visible consequences" [1]CERN's particle physicists then conjectured why other "things" would trap mBH (micro black holes). Two independent papers were written that challenge this assumption. [2][3]So if there is no proof that creating slow micro black holes is safe, what could happen?1. Micro black holes could be created[4] (Dr. Hawking estimates 1% chance).2. Micro black holes could be stable as predicted by several papers that refute Hawking Radiation [3][5][6].3. Micro black holes could grow exponentially [3]4. The world could become a truely small world after all.Cheers ;)LHCFacts.org
