The idol stands there when even the airport was not extended this far. There is a big haj terminal just next to it. Why dont we use that land in normal days also. Big piece of land in the middle of the city going waste to appease muslims.

In India religion is above everything else so the statue cannot be shifted I guess. Nearly 40 years have passed since the 1969 Report of the the Tata Committee, another 40 years will pass before all the recommendations of the Committee are implemented.

Shiva Idol hindering flights on IIIrd runwayBy: Prasad | Friday , 24 Oct '08 11:37:07 AM Reply | Forward Rather than blaming Lord shiva who has been in the present position right since 1994, we should blame the designers of the new runway whose runway design made the idol too near the funnel area. man is not prepared to admit his fault and always ends up blaming the gods and providence for all his miseries. It is time we do some honest introspection about the one upmanship everyone is upto.
