Chandigarh Airport and ImmigrationBy: Jasvir | Sunday , 13 Sep '09 17:31:13 PM Reply | Forward This is great to hear that flights will be going out of Chandigarh, it will be covenienant for travellers as they won't have to travel down the scary and bumpy highway from Delhi to Punjab or vice versa. For sure, I hope that the Punjab police doesn't interrogate travellers unnecessarily. It's so hard for travellers to trust the police where some people have fallen prey to corruption. I'm sure there are honest police officers in India too. So far I have had good experiences at the Delhi airport.

Happy By: Amrit | Sunday , 26 Jul '09 16:55:11 PM Reply | Forward Well ... Its nice to hear that Chandigarh will have international airport. Same time worrried as said by Amit in Post above...Staff at Airport will need to be taught to be polite not rough..thats what I felt when traveled via Amritsar last time. One of the gentlemen i think from Customs was talking really rough and were treating us as if we are criminals ...
Corrupt Police and ImmigrationBy: Amit | Sunday , 14 Jun '09 18:54:44 PM Reply | Forward If Punjab Police is appointed to work in immigration in chandigarh, it will be the biggest mistake. They will harass the passengers at every step including asking for money even to borad the flights.Improving infrastructure also demands improvement of services and attitude of police and immigration.I dont know , if some one can listen and see the problems faced by passengers in Amritsar. For this reason , I land only at Delhi because of attitude of immigration and police people in amritsar airport and now same thing will happen at Chd airport as the trainning given by amritar staff will be same to exploit and make money.
thakurBy: kamal | Thursday , 11 Jun '09 11:29:52 AM Reply | Forward well.. that's certainly a welcome move!!
