All the wings of the democracy being clipped the bird is unable to fly then you neglect it without giving food and water.There has not been lively debates about the constitution and enlighten people /young generations as to what kind of the change has occurred. I am sorry to say that democracy dies the day when imposed on the people -- if you can impose the free will then you are killing it at the same time.No democracy is a republic the minute it becomes a republic it ceases to be democracy(This is at a higher level of debate)Voting alone is not the duty of the citizen. But they have left us no choice other than to vote and keep quiet. They have twisted the trust placed in them by the people at a large. I cannot and refuse to have an unelected PM walking into that respected office and say no election is needed .The day he did that he had killed the democracy !!!!!

dead democracy cannot dance 1By: Dr.G.Srinivasan | Sunday , 29 Mar '09 5:27:27 AM Reply | Forward Of late I have been doing a lot of thinking about democracy. when Nehru said true enough democracy has its pitfalls bu that ids the best form of governance.But when they assembled together "What they thought of as the best out of all the constitutions of the world" it was a voluminous document.They approved the constitution in the name of the people of india (Did they have the right to vote for the constitution on our behalf is another matter) and the preamble read We the people . give to ourselves the secular,republic to which indira Gandhi added socialism from her pocket.By the time the office of the president was already undermined what was left was the judiciary (We will not talk about this )finally we are today in a state where the wings of democracy have all been clipped and the pigeon which Nehru was about to release not only could not fly it could not get even.the office of the president the office of the PM and the office of the CEC CBI everything made subservient to AICC

The average intelligent voter deserves better. And ultimately it is this voter who can turn the tables in elections as happened in the 1977 general elections. I fail to agree with this.After all said and done the voters have no choice but to vote to protect a constitution which he/she believes is sacrosanct.But when the congress has undermined all the wings of democracy the office of the President the office of the PM the office of the CEC the office of the CBI there is nothing left for the citizens to do.The bases of the constitution is that people elect their MPs and they in turn elect one from the elected members as PM. It is not that they nominate one from the unelected members and make him lifetime PM!!!! No democracy in the world will allow an unelected person to walk into the office of the PM and India should be no different. The minimum qualification of the PM should be that he is elected.
