Police is always atrociousBy: Ruma | Monday , 22 Jun '09 8:38:20 AM Reply | Forward If the DIG Praveen Kumar had said that the police wants to gain the confidence of the people, it should be read as "police wants people to submit and surrender". Therein lies the whole problem of so called Maoist menace in Lalgarh, where police torture became a rule of life since 1998, which culminated in police terror and atrocities on November 05, 2008 on the ground of attack of Maoists on Chief Minister's convoy, which resulted in the formation of People's Committee Against People's Atrocities and subsquent movement for the last 7 and 1/2 months. Now the DIG is once again interested in restoring upperhand of olice on people in the name of restoring confidence and law
