For a person who came to power using the Bofors crutch (nothing ever was proved), he divided the country across caste line and the result in todays world is a Mayawati. Yes, there are under-privileged in India, no doubt, but it should have been on economic grounds, and not on caste grounds. The curse of Mandal still hangs over our nation. A close second to this man would be Arjun Singh. Enough said, life goes on and the era of VP Singh, in my mind, was a bad dream.

BTW. did he do any good at all for our country ?He made everyone Weep and Sing his praise for the nonsense called VP, he flattered about Bofors before deceiving the Indian Public.Still. Learn Something From Him....By: angad | Friday , 28 Nov '08 10:11:57 AM Reply | Forward V P Singh is an fighter as he had been batteling cancer for the past 17 years......he was suffering from multiple myeloma and plus was having a renal failure for which he had to go to the hospital three times a week. Even after knowing his medical condition he had a very positive attitude in life, which helped him fight cancer for 17 years.........i respect the man's will power......i know many people who r suffering from cancer or from renal failure or even both, who take v p singh as an example and get inspired by him and it helps them fight there dieseas.......V P Singh has been an inspration for many and would always remain to be..........god knows how many of us reading this today will suffer from what later on in our lifes......but if its cancer or renal failure then we all will remember this man and get inspired by him and respect him.........so all i would like to request is that give respect to the dead........

waste of timeBy: atul | Friday , 28 Nov '08 15:08:32 PM Reply | Forward at last he departs..who tried to divide the united people of india into castes and created hatred in their hearts for fellow brothers..... he survived with cancer for 17 years not because of his will power BUT only because his all medical expenses were borne by the government; every comman man can battle the disease if his expenditures are paid for. lets all pray for his soul to rest forever... so that no other person is born on this earth like him who can sow the seeds of hatred in the heart of people
