New Delhi: Joining voice with their community across the globe, hundreds of homosexuals and transgenders marched on the streets of the national capital demanding decriminalisation of homosexuality. We are all human beings, gay or straightBy: GNS | Tuesday , 30 Jun '09 4:40:13 AM Reply | Forward God is invoked by all for all kinds of things, including human conditions, calamities, miracles, all over the world but NOT when it concerns gays.Remember some elders used to beat kids when they are left-handed till they use right hand for every thing, though unsuccessfully.Same goes for gays.It is part of nature's gifts to society. Our short experience with gays in Australia : they are the most law-abiding,maintain very high hygiene, more tolerant of all kinds of diversity and more importantly : they take better care of children.I am myself straight and Hindu but we Hindus should have the least of problems or historical baggage in accepting gays as our Hindu religion is left to the believers for practice.Till Brahmins introduced rituals for their own dominance / benefits ( gifts ) in / from society, our religion was the most democratic and free of dogma. This last obnoxious vestige of British Raj must be done away with, sooner the better.
Gay rightsBy: daljit | Tuesday , 30 Jun '09 2:48:51 AM Reply | Forward another disease from the west has been copied by Indians. In the land of so many religions people are looking for unnatural acts that are not supported by any religion. Instead of copying some good values of the west we are blindly following them and becoming true copy cats.Instead of living life of virtues we tend to become unnatural. No govt and religion should support these people.

Never again the same !By: chanakya | Monday , 29 Jun '09 11:29:28 AM Reply | Forward What ever may be the right and wrong of this procesion, one thing is clear that India has been transported to a different social order. India can never be the same. Its age old customs have been powerfully over written by several influences. Now what is left, is a society which doesn't have any inspiring leaders and drifts the way the wind blows. Suicides in cities are increasing compared to rural farming communities. India can never be the same.
Nothing wrongBy: Sindhoo | Monday , 29 Jun '09 10:45:33 AM Reply | Forward I dont find something wrong in this , coz in a country where we have freedom , we need to leave the people as they wish to lead their lives, homos, gays and lesbians are common people like us, why cant we respect their views?wats wrong in doing so?come on guys lets join our hands to wish them who bravely came up saying tht they want to live like tht.

It's time for the end of prejudiceBy: Vikram | Monday , 29 Jun '09 10:31:42 AM Reply | Forward India is a nation of diversity, which has been successful because it embraces everyone. It is high time to end the baseless and archaic prejudice against homosexuals. In reply to the post from 'Engineer': Gays and eunuchs are ordinary people just like you and me. Most of them believe in family just as you and I do. In the West, many homosexual couples adopt children, which is a service to society. In fact, some of your good friends are surely homosexual but, due to social prejudices, they are afraid to admit it openly.Let us remember that, in the eyes of the Bhagavan, all are same, and let us try our best to see through those same eyes.
Gay parade in Delhi for decriminalisation of homosexualityBy: Ilango | Monday , 29 Jun '09 9:33:37 AM Reply | Forward With all due respect, i don't think it suits our culture. I am tolerant but personally gay parade puts me off. Gays and lesbians hopefully can mix in the normal indian society but i think it is very abnormal..I wish not many feel the same!
Where is Queen Victoria and the Britishers ?By: Krshna | Monday , 29 Jun '09 0:56:31 AM Reply | Forward Who introduced that absurd law during colonial days in India, Burma and other places ? Is it a Hindustani heritage ? It is an outdated law and I am really glad that many people now openly come out and claim their right to be what they are: Proud citizens of India who are expressing the changes taking place everythere, including the biggest democracy on earth. Don't like these changes ? Nobody will force you to love a person of the opposite gender. But obviously these people have no distant idea what is love at all.
