Patna: RJD chief Lalu Prasad denounced Delhi High Court's ruling decriminalising gay sex and felt the Centre should appeal against the judgement in the Supreme Court. "Gay sex should not be legalised at any cost and the Centre should appeal against the verdict in the Supreme Court. I am dead against l  ....Read more

Re:TalibBy: Prashant | Thursday , 9 Jul '09 10:10:09 AM Reply | Forward "homosecsuality "?"psycologist"?"secsologist"?You've just proved how much you know about sexual preferences. I think you need to research a little more and get your facts right. "they should buried until their neck and stone them to death"??You're in India. Get a life, or move to another country. Its very embarassing for us to know that there are people who are so narrow minded in our country.
Do not advertise yourself in the name of societyBy: sukam | Tuesday , 7 Jul '09 14:16:09 PM Reply | Forward Human freedom is essential so long as use of that freedom does not impinge on another person's freedom. The court verdict is all about freedom of choice. The latest religion is "LIVE LIFE YOUR WAY AND DO NOT HURT ANOTHER PERSON WHILE DOING SO". And this is valid for any faith(the so called religions). So there is no need to create a big rucus about the court ruling. Open your mind and you will find this a non-issue.

Counselling requiredBy: talib | Monday , 6 Jul '09 14:12:46 PM Reply | Forward He who is a gaey is not a gaey by birth. There is always some incident during the childhood/puberty that leads to one become homosecsual. It's a researched fact that homosecsuality is a kind of ailment that needs to be treated by proper counseling from a psycologist or a secsologist. Legalizing this ailment will destroy our society. We are in a secular country unlike other countries whether the people destroy themselves with a false notion for freedom. As an Indian regardless of the faith, how can one see any of our sons/brothers getting involved in this shameful act. People like Karan Johar and others who promote this shameful acts in their films should be punished. Karan himself is a homo. I like the shariah (islamic) law of punishing the homos - they should buried until their neck and stone them to death. If this punishment is levied in India, easily this homosecsuality disease can be treated 100 per cent.
Gay.. its an ill wind that blows the society no goodBy: JOSHUA KIPKEMOI BOITT | Monday , 6 Jul '09 13:23:09 PM Reply | Forward We should learn to walk before we run,Oh! no legalising gay rights ,the society in shambles we have lost a sense of direction and are doomed to perish. We should not emulate the nations that legalises gayism, but learn to create our own rights for posterity.Lau Prasad is right ,we should not legalise gay sex at any cost.On the other hand, the society is to blame for brewing gays, how? our sons and daughters should be given freedom to mingle to one another in school and at home if we are to avoid gays in society,it all begun by them.. not able to mix freely with the opposite sex,but critics will pipe hot on this. This is the genesis of gayism...an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The wind is blowing and penal code has been change,377 flashing when and where will it be restored to its glory back to you Supreme court...make it a better place for mothers and fathers are wailing we have hope in you.
Re: MBy: RC | Monday , 6 Jul '09 6:07:46 AM Reply | Forward There you go again, A! You deign to give gays the freedom to be themselves (how generous of you...NOT!), but not to be treated as equals. Do you see your own prejudice and hypocrisy? Marriage is a contract between two people. It's between their God and them, not you or anyone else in society. Separate, but equal hasn't worked in the United States and other places and it won't work in India either. It doesn't make sense.
Re: Please have some shame and don't let the GAY disease spread !!!By: RC | Monday , 6 Jul '09 6:01:05 AM Reply | Forward Speaking As An Indian - Would I want my parents or children to be gay? I wouldn't wish it on anyone (because people like you exist who are homophobic and prejudiced), but if they were gay, I'd love and accept them.Government isn't created to control people's lives. It is created to protect freedoms and to provide certain services for which we pay taxes. It has no business telling consenting adults what they can or cannot do in the privacy of their bedroom and neither should anyone else.No one is asking you to become gay or practice gay sex...why should it bother you? However, apparently, you associate being gay to being lewd and losing self-respect. It's safe to say you suffer from homophobia. In fact, it's entirely possible you are gay and suffer from internalized homophobia. Self-hate is a terrible thing.Sexual exploration has existed since the beginning of time and isn't going to stop even if there are laws against it.I am more proud of India now than I've ever been!
Re: RetiredBy: RC | Monday , 6 Jul '09 5:22:20 AM Reply | Forward Barinder, let me edify you...smoking is allowed by law in India, and 377 isn't about smoking or drugs or anything related to that so your argument is invalid.Second, your saying gays and lesbians are sick and should be sent for treatment makes about as much sense as you saying all people with blue or green eyes are sick, should not be treated equally and should be sent for treatment. Upholding human rights and treating others with dignity is what this verdict was about. Something most religions don't seem to be able to appreciate or address in this day and age.India has a rich history (including Kamasutra, Khajuraho temples). Don't throw it away. Don't ignore the mention of gays/trans in our scriptures - Ardhanareshwar, Krishna turning into Mohini, Arjun cross-dressing as Brihannala, Shikhandi and so many more.Per your logic anything the British gave us, we should keep. Well, they threw away 377 in their own country because it was wrong, shouldn't we follow suit?
Re: Homosexuality no place in Indian cultureBy: RC | Monday , 6 Jul '09 4:52:50 AM Reply | Forward Plucking buggers from your nose in public is indecent and unhygenic and it's offensive to most of society, will you stop?Religion should uplift people not used as a weapon against what doesn't make sense to you or feels uncomfortable. Saints like Dhnyaneshwar, Buddha and Jesus were discriminated against for who they were and what they believed in till enough people realized what they said was true. They didn't discriminate, who are we to do so?Religion and politics are flawed and so discrimination, bigotry and inhumane treatment are generally dealt with best thru laws. It is the job of laws in a democracy to make sure that human dignity is upheld, that society doesn't treat anyone (including gays) as second-class citizens.Gays don't create gays, straight people do. There's no injection or potion which will make people gay all of a sudden, so there's no fear of future children becoming gay. Ignorance is no excuse for discriminating against others. Educate yourself.
Re; Why organise melas?By: RC | Monday , 6 Jul '09 4:28:37 AM Reply | Forward This is what is called homophobia. Why hold processions and melas? It's the same as people going on strike. It's a form of protest and a vehicle to show pride, by marching in the streets they tell you not to ignore them any longer. They are asking you to look at them for the human beings they are, not trash to be ashamed of and swept under the carpet. There's nothing sinister about asking for your what is rightfully yours...human dignity. Gays aren't recruited, they are born out of straight parents. No one is encouraging propogation of homosexuality. Even gays will tell you it's not something they would choose to be if they could, esp. not seeing how they are treated or mistreated. But let consenting adults love each other. It is no one else's business what they do between themselves. They aren't harming anyone.
