Govt works to repeal law against homosexuality

New Delhi: The government is said to be actively working to “repeal” the controversial Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code — drafted in Victorian India — that criminalises homosexuality. Highly places sources confirmed to The Sunday Express that Home Minister P Chidambaram, Law Minister M Veerappa Moily   ....Read more

Govt's move to legalise homosexBy: ramkesav | Thursday , 2 Jul '09 14:03:26 PM Reply | Forward something is very bad basicaly with this govt. Either there are practising homos in this govt or it is supported by them. There are so many things warranting the attention of the govt. Even after 60 years of independence education and job is not yet guaranteed. we have may villages without power, water and roads. The first agenda of this new govt should have been curtailing price raise instead of sec377. The govt deliberately skips core issues to divert public attention from thier mistakes. The UPA is full of scam tainted ministers. The PM is silent spectator to spectrum scam. I request the readers not to fall prey to these deviating tactics. As far gay practisers, you may consume your own shit instead of rice and wheat. It will give you more pleasure and joy than homo and lesbian sex. It is the erosion in our educational and cultural standards that has brought us to this. A right is to live as one likes is not independent of being a member of the society.
Please dont mix two separate issuesBy: Abhijit | Monday , 29 Jun '09 20:13:28 PM Reply | Forward Child sex abuse is a very serious issue but please dont mix that with homosexuality. In last year a survey report came that showed that 56% girls and 48% boys are sexually abused. Considering the very less percentage (not more than 10%) of homosexuals in any society, it clearly shows that most of these offenses have been done by straight people. For that reason, will we criminalize straight sex too? We need stringent laws to curb pedophiles but not homosexuals.
child abuse- HAH!By: D | Sunday , 28 Jun '09 21:06:39 PM Reply | Forward Its nice to see such "open minded" people around! funny how more young girls seem to lose their virginity at the age of 8 or 9 years.. wonder who does that? don't think there is anything gay about that- yet it happens... next people will be saying that the Manusmriti should be supported regarding women being inferior to men.... HEAR HEAR!
Dont spoil the countryBy: Shoaib Gorakhpuri | Sunday , 28 Jun '09 15:06:49 PM Reply | Forward Any change in Anti-Gay law is tantamount to destroy our culture that is pure and too far from such an anti-nature behavior. It is a heinous crime that cannot be forbidden at all and those who had committed this crime in past or have been committing still were and have been cursed by All Holy Books equally. Vedas, Quran and Bible cursed them, Messengers of God cursed them, and good natured people at all time condemned this crime. Besides, Decriminalizing homosexuality will encourage child abuses and create danger of HIV/ AIDS. I don’t understand that why our Home minister P Chidambaram is considering to repeal this respected law while our country has many problems needed to be dealt with? Those who are supporting decriminalization of homosexuality should know that Indian society cannot accept it in any way.
