Washington-based Hindu American Foundation said Burger King is running a print adver  ....Read more

consumer forum and consumer protectionBy: Walsh | Thursday , 9 Jul '09 21:01:40 PM Reply | Forward Millions of Indians are suffering at the hands of giant companies. These companies like water purifiers makers like Eureka Forbes, Banks,Airlines, Telephone companies promise and donot honor the warranty, collect full money and do not do any service. Even if we go to Consumer Courts they blatantly defy the court orders. They evade all the ethics of business. I urge expressindia to start a new column dedicating to helpless consumers.
languageBy: Rama Rao | Thursday , 9 Jul '09 10:51:40 AM Reply | Forward Arun Kumar, looks like you need to first realize that Hindi is not the only language of India. Several others are too. Hindi is just another regional language of India. Most of the speakers still live in the villages. Hindi speakers like you should first learn how to speak sanskrit and pronounce the words. RAMA is how it is written and how it is pronounced. You guys don't know the basics. While 'chair' is feminine, 'table' is masculine. No grammar or no logic! You better know how Indians pronounce sanskrit words. It is not bhojpuri or pahadi.
shape of goddessBy: richard | Thursday , 9 Jul '09 7:46:22 AM Reply | Forward Too good! Now, can anyone tell me what is the true shape of gods and godesses we believe in?
Burger king advertisement of adding Hindu God=insult By: vraman | Thursday , 9 Jul '09 7:01:17 AM Reply | Forward Burger king found no other way of selling their products and just to draw the attention of criticism, so that more people talk about this,ie another way of sell advertisemnt.]They have to brough to court for insulting religion and ensure banning of such items from sale immediately, which can be only the solution for those who want cheap publicity.Hindu supports should boycot such shops and discourage people coming to their outlet, thereby they are exposed for ever.
Denigrating religious symbols and personalities is indeed deplorableBy: Ahmad | Thursday , 9 Jul '09 3:53:11 AM Reply | Forward This wanton desecration of any religion's holy icons using them for commercial purposes is deplorable. People in the west simply don't understand people's sensibilities, having been brought up without any sensitivities.
pityBy: great | Thursday , 9 Jul '09 1:02:36 AM Reply | Forward I feel pity for this news item itself. This is just published here to instigate the sangh writers who had gone into oblivion after the elections...Wake up..unite..oh Hindus..talk about secularism...ban bugerking..jingoism.. and all this is coming back to this column..utter nonsense...one thing everyone should understand...dont under estimate others and also beggars are not choosers
sermons on secularismBy: anand | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 19:49:42 PM Reply | Forward now wait for the sermons from so called "seculars". they will start reminding us hindus how tolerant hinduism is and so on. they will also tell us how we should not protest against these insults. frankly speaking, we are tired of being tolerant. the more tolerance we show we are pushed further in the corner. we need VHP, RSS to start a campaign. now again the seculars will tell us that VHP, RSS will politicise the situation. but then why can't the so called seculars take up the issues of hindus?. the way they start chest thumping when it comes to islam and christianity. untill this happens, we will go to VHP
Hindu...the name is not true for you...By: Jem Hassan | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 19:44:59 PM Reply | Forward In regards to the post of the person under the mask 'Hindu', i have to alert you that it is your saffron publications and western zionists and orientalists that spread the misinformation that Islam urges to kill ;non-believers'(Kaafirs),,and your Sanghis gave the meaning for the word 'Kaafir' Hindu and alleged that Qur'an call for killing 'Hindus'...this is what you try to expound here?..or are you the prey of the Sanghis and Anti-Muslims who 24/7 dream of ending Islam in the world?...wake up before you die in pain for being in the world where you see alot of Muslims living with peace. All Muslims are not Talibanis who ask for Jizya and Jizya means nothing but a kind of 'tax' recovered from non-Muslims...and your saffron publications hide the fact that Muslims under Islamic rule have to pay more money as 'Zakaath' than the petty amount paid as 'Jizya' by the non-Muslims.To understand this, you need to learn Islamic history of our prophet(pbuh) from the right sources.I am sorry for it!
Hypocrite IdiotsBy: Village Boy | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 19:44:48 PM Reply | Forward How is Burger King any different from millions of Hindu and Sikh shop-keepers who shamelessly display pictures of Lakshmi and other so called sacred symbols/pictures to peddle their goods? If anything needs to be banned, ban the so called ‘Hindu advocacy groups’. These advocacy groups are nothing more than a bunch of religious idiots spreading their nonsense and intolerance in US or anywhere else. These people have nothing better to do than getting outraged at ‘other’ people. The so called “hurt religious feeling” is oxymoron. People of India badly need to be desensitized against this malady of ‘hurt religious feelings’. Only then they may live together without indulging in regular religious riots. I wish many Indian businesses also indulge in this noble practice of lampooning religious symbols/figures/books for the general good of public. Regarding many Muslims supporting their Hindu brothers on this issue, I would say – keep your intolerance to yourself, if you can get rid of it.
I think all Gods Statues and Pics be removed ..By: MV | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 19:34:24 PM Reply | Forward Going with anand's logic, I think, first off, all God's images must be banned from non-vegetarian restaurents and all such restaurants should not use God's name as part of their restaurant or store names. No " Ganesh non-veg Bhojanlay" or "Ganesh Beedis".
