‘I hope the Third Front glue sticks but it all depends on the numbers post elections’

•Unni Rajen Shanker: As we head into the general elections, how do you assess the political situation? It’s too early to say anything definitive. Only when we are close to the first round of polling will we get an idea of how things are shaping up. But I can tell you what the CPI(M) is ai  ....Read more

Communist governance in Kerala and West Bengal to be models for the rest of IndiaBy: Charles | Wednesday , 29 Apr '09 18:32:36 PM Reply | Forward With the decentralisation of power ( Panchayati Raj ) the rural areas of both states have yielded self sufficiency. Under the self employment programmes, at least one member of the family is employed. Pure drinking water, sufficient electricity, health centre, public convenience systems spruced up. The villages owe their gratitude to the communist parties since only this party reach the common man. The congress and its cronies say that communist parties are against religion and development. This is cheap rhetoric they had been using for ages and falling only on the ears of the ignorant. The communist parties are not against advanced tech but they are indeed against rapid development at the cost of losing jobs since tech replaces additional hands. The bourgeois media is working hand in hand with the capitalists to humiliate the communists but the new india know that the communists are never bad as they were made to think. The progressive forces in almost all states in india are not depending on the communists to take on the reins of governance to provde credibility. So the useless anti communist commentators can just shut their mouths.
Don't preach what your party cannot practice...By: Roy Choweller | Monday , 4 May '09 14:32:11 PM Reply | Forward Charles... I believe you ae harsh in your crtiicism of other parties. Are the Communists progressive? Except for the few in Kerala..West Bengal...like you nobody cares a damn for the Commies
Indeed as a communist i am harsh against the congress for their sham politics and capitalist tendencies.By: Charles | Tuesday , 5 May '09 17:37:52 PM Reply | Forward That's the reason the ignorant like you detest communism. you wil have to have a broader perspective to understand communism. are you reading the papers, even the pm, rahul, pawar, lalu are after the leftists to share power. the progressive people are with the communists and i regret you are not. if people like you see the communists in bad light, it is only because of shameful fear. The communists are progressive. All cultural leaders in india are leftists. i regret you are not aware of it.

Communist is an inevitable force in IndiaBy: Charles | Wednesday , 29 Apr '09 18:12:40 PM Reply | Forward With brilliant academians like Comrade Karat and Comrade Yechury the communist marxist party has grown from strength to strength. The membership of party members rose from 1.3 lakh to 2 lakh during the last 5 years. The working class are with the leftists. The congress would have mortgaged india under the global financial crisis thanks to the communist parties defiance to enhance the FDI cap. The Congress is a defunct party. Since 1947 they had only plundered india's resources to serve their own ends. The poor have become poorer. The communist parties are growing all over the europe and africa. So the only answer to solve the ills of the society is to rely on the fine fundamentals of scientific socialism which is communism.
USELESS ANTI COMMUNIST COMMENTATORSBy: Charles | Wednesday , 29 Apr '09 18:05:11 PM Reply | Forward The anti communist tirades in this blog are nothing but useless and baseless. Communist parties can only lead India to a better future. The Congress are nothing but the stooge of imperialism. And those who despise communism and communists are those who have plundered india's wealth under the congress dispensation. These anticommunists will be exposed and brought before the law. Comrade Karat and Yechury are brilliant academians and clean politicians. They have secular, progressive and the working class behind them. So the cheap rhetoric of these stupid anti communist baiters will not carry any weight either. The left forces will be a mighty force and India will see the left party running the goverment very soon.
Third Front.By: R.Ghosh | Tuesday , 28 Apr '09 4:58:38 AM Reply | Forward D/Sir, Some one has said Yechuri is Nonstop Nonsense. And KARAT is, as I see him is a DEALER and not a LEADER.Going from people to people and promising the moon and enticing the greedy people.3rd. front will be Khichdi where the RICE will be cooked but the DAL ie the cereals will not be cookedas in hilly areas like Denver. You can imagine how it will taste! You cannot eat it,Lunch or Dinner will be spoilt inspite of adding more and more Ghee to it.If CPM takes the lead to form Govt.then it will be run on Communistic lines. There will be no progress India will become ALL INdiaWest Bengal. No initiative,No incentive,No progress,Industrywithout Productivity,Morchas,Strikes,Bundh and all India revolution or agitations against Capitalists,Banking system, communist leaders will rule supreme with impunity.Local Satraps will revolt and there will be fight to bringthe state under control. The GOVT. will break down and in the next Election even the POLICE will not be dependable because due to their Association or Unions they will try tosupport the Communists to gain more control.Tagore's INDIAis not ready for Communism because the people of India wanttheir MIND to be FREE where reasoning is more important than Ideology. It is a mystry how Commins have managed Bengal for such a long time.It will be worst CALAMITY for this buddingNATION if Communists manage to come at the helm.It will be similar to Talibanisation of Pakistan. Difference is Talibans work in the name of God and the commins work for themselves/Ideology which is redundant and oppressive.Solet us be conscious and careful while excercising our Rightto vote. Let us bring back a National Party like CONGRESS orBJP to keep our CONSCIENCE together and intact.Pray help usoh! GOD.
where is the stance ?By: mitesh | Friday , 17 Apr '09 11:34:07 AM Reply | Forward these people are absolutely nonsense with their ideology, and menifesto as well.what has been we get by giving job security to the people ?union ? mass leaving ? losses ? how many govt. comanies does make profit ? we cant take any action againts permenant worker evenif he doesnt work> . where is the provision to tackle down these things. where does their foriegn policy stand ? what does they think on arunachal pradesh, naxalism ?they havent said a one word against chinese expansion in indian ocean, these people have been sold out themselves to the chinese.people just visit once a bengal, and see the standard of living , the development ( social development waobut what they talking too much, people cant eat for a twise a day, dont have closthes to wear, hand rikshaw is still being there in this fast life, just visit the nandigram, people have nothing to eat, worsest situation is there) after 50 years of rulling, what has been given to the public, what have been done , if things are still similar to the 1947.
3rd FrontBy: yohan | Sunday , 5 Apr '09 18:12:55 PM Reply | Forward wonderful interview with worthy perceptions. from the dialog it seems we should definitely give a chance to the third front. their problem seems to be pm aspirants. mayawati is foremost in this and hence she is trying to contest alone to get majority for BSP alone. she is going at the speed of Alexander the great who ventured into capturing the whole world. where she will end. now she is antagonizing bjp with nsa on varun to please congress. what is up in her sleeves anybody can guess. she can only win in UP and nowhere else. let the third front rule at least for 5 years and let us see if there is any change from run of the mill political parties, that always dream kursi.
Third front governmentBy: Subramanian | Sunday , 5 Apr '09 16:42:24 PM Reply | Forward The UPA alignment was purely on one ground that BJP should not be allowed to form the government as they may slowly bring out the faulty dealings of the Congress and others in the past to light. In fact the BJP government's dealings with Russia, China as well as US and other countries was more decent and worthy as BJP had sensible and reasonable personalities in the party. Other than BJP almost all the parties were filled with members who wanted to save their ill-gotten money or take legal protection from the murderous activites by them. If any government is formed without the participation of the national parties, the same will have the fate of Gowda, Gujral governments only.
Folls and Idiots of IndiaBy: Amit Purohit | Sunday , 5 Apr '09 11:49:52 AM Reply | Forward I have not read this article at all, becasue these Communists idiots dont deserve. Why newspapers give them space?? There are many Bangla Newspapers which will publish their abilities?Congress is better than Communists and BJP better than Congress as for now.Thes ebufoons are dead weight to nation. I presume he may be barking about his perceptiono f foreign policy, but they themselves are base don foriegn ideology and they can never relpy this question. All communist laaders collectively cannot compete with MamMohan Singh and even Poorest of Poor ManiShanker Iyer. This man Yechury is non stop non sense. Sad to see IE giving so much space to traitors of country rather than Varun Gandhi or Rahul or even Navjot Siddhu or even me
Third frontBy: Dr.K.K.Ammannaya | Sunday , 5 Apr '09 11:36:44 AM Reply | Forward The third front may find it tough to select the candidate for the post of Prime Minister. Also third front may not implement reforms, and other policies relating to liberalsation, globalisation etc.FDI inflow will stop and share market may see further bottoms because of the left policies that are based on theories that are centuies old.We need more progressive and forward looking policies today
CPM and its no ideologyBy: Chandrakant MArathe | Sunday , 5 Apr '09 11:02:03 AM Reply | Forward Sitaram Yechuri and his party is a confused lot. They want to some how bring in a situation where they maintain their nusence value. In the entire interview we cannot find any basic priciples or vision of the communists. By giving vague statements like we will see how things work out after elections....they want to keep going their politics. CPM is ready to do business with any formation be it capitalist, casteist or even communalist as long as the party does not have its name BJP or some times congress. Tomorrow if half the BJP and Congress splits and there are two more new parties with the same people, communists will join them in a so called third front. CPM's ideology is employment guarantee to their politicians by creating mess around.
