Strategic Importance to IndiaBy: Giri Girishankar | Saturday , 4 Jul '09 6:23:26 AM Reply | Forward India's ambitions of being a regional power will be well served by assisting neighboring countries like Bhutan and Nepal in their economic and democratic development. India has to win the friendship, confidence and loyalty of these countries. This is of strategic importance to India. Indo-Bhutan fast track power projectsBy: gautam | Saturday , 4 Jul '09 0:25:57 AM Reply | Forward It is good news because tiny nation needs help from India to improve its infra structure. On its part India must ensure that agreement is implemented in its totality and to the satisfaction of Thimpu. If there is dilly dallying in completing project as per the stipulated time frame then there is possibility that Thimpu might look elsewhere, meaning China, to meet its needs.Indian culture is notorious in implementation and delays are nothing but are being looked as inevitable for the authrioty in charge.Nepal has already started looking further northward because they donot trust Indian leadership words. One hopes Thimpu is not let down by Indian beauracracy which is outrightly corrupt and politicised.
