Mental FatigueBy: Anshul Sharma | Saturday , 30 May '09 13:16:24 PM Reply | Forward I think Harsha is correct in saying that we make too much of the mental fatigue factor.A player if he is in good form, especialy the younger ones will like to play as many matches they can to cement their place but having said that, mental and physical fatigue is an individual thing. Take for example MS Dhoni, he has had the triple burden of captaining the Indian team with the burden of expectations of 100 million fans along with wicketkeeping and being the mainstay around which the batting revolves. All this is taking toll on his body as we saw in the IPL where he made Parthiv Patel kep wickets and also wasn’t in his best form{He was efficient but wasn’t destructive and looked tired to me.}. But for some younger players like Rainas, Rohit, Yusuf,Ojha, Ishant it is another chance for them to show that the win in 2007 wasn’t a fluke and India is one of the best. .Mental fatigue wont be an issue with them
