Kudos to the ISRO teamBy: S M KHENED | Saturday , 15 Nov '08 15:44:06 PM Reply | Forward Truly this feat of placing the MIP on the surface of the moon is an inspirational and outstanding tribute of ISRO in particlular and the citizens of India in general, to the archtect of Indian scientific endeavour, Pandit Nehru. ISRO has timed the MIP hard landing on the surface of the moon so precisely so as to coincide the same with his birth date and also the childrens day. This unique feat owes its genesis to Pandit Nehru who immediately on taking over the reins of the completely devastated country from the colonial rule, laid emphasis on science and technology and built scientific institutions including the ISRO, what he then called the "Temples of Modern India". He also ensured that the word Scientific Temper is included in our constitution. On this remarkable day when our untiring scientists of ISRO are truly elated let us all citizens of this great country offer our indebtedness to all of them, specially to Dr Madhavan Nair, the Chariman of ISRO and to M Annadurai.
