Journo wanted to provoke, not to hurt me: Chidambaram

New Delhi: Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, who was the target of a Sikh journalist's ire on Tuesday on the issue of CBI clean chit to Jagdish Tytler in anti-Sikh riots cases, said on Wednesday that he thought the scribe intended to provoke him and not hurt him. He said it was for the party to decide wh  ....Read more

Joural - no a journalist but a hoodlumBy: Naim Naqvi | Thursday , 9 Apr '09 13:03:35 PM Reply | Forward Why, no, not at all, it was an emotional outburst of one.......I think Mr. Chidambram had shown his savy which is outreach and need of the hour. What this rogue pen peddler Journal has done is not only mean, idiotic but totally alien to Indian ethos. He has done it thinking he is emulating Zaidi of Iraq. While the world in general expressed shock and some appreciate his act a heroic one, no body is going to believe that Jounral act was in the same spirit.
Mr ChiduBy: AKS | Thursday , 9 Apr '09 9:56:55 AM Reply | Forward Mr HM, having good oratorical skill only is not enough to make others believe in what you say. After a few months since taking over the reign of this ministry, the nation sees no difference except statement after statement of congress persons. Your statement of declaring CBI as an independent agency is simply an eyewash and deserved to be treated the way it was. Enough is enough and someone like you will have to pay price for it.
Shoe hurl on chidambaramBy: SVS Subrahmaniam | Thursday , 9 Apr '09 9:35:39 AM Reply | Forward After the Bush incident in Baghdad, the journalists, who are supposed to be examples to the society how to behave in public places, also are wanting to come in to lime light courtesy the development of electronic media. It is very easy to misbehave in the public society but very difficult to behave decently with decorum. This is a classic example of one such misbehavior. The issue is some thinmg and attack on some body unconnected to the matter.
Sikh terrorBy: J.M.Manchanda | Thursday , 9 Apr '09 8:28:31 AM Reply | Forward The copy makes excellent reading except that only the rich and powerful get justice. Anti-Sikh riots were not the starting point of history. It was preceded by a decade of senseless violence unleashed by Sikh extremists holed up inside the Golden Temple and abroad. Hundreds of poor, helpless Hindus were killed in the fields of Punjab and many fled selling their homes for pennies. Secessionist Sikh terrorists like Chauhan raised the banner of Khalistan, hoisted flags, printed currency and even brought down AI plane. Indira Gandhi's assassins, who were brainwashed at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib were hanged but what course did the law take for the countless Hindu victims of Sikh terror? Let the BJP and their ally, Akalis explain to the people.

Journo only showed how upset he is with politiciansBy: prakashkapila | Wednesday , 8 Apr '09 21:24:23 PM Reply | Forward When we have incompetent people as bosses we get upset and enraged.Journalist only showed his anger in his thinking about how incapable and dishonest our politicians have become.Riot leaders are national leaders, how far low are we going to fall before some good people become leaders. If parties cannot support good people as leaders then they must fall.We cannot enable victory of any party by ruining India.
