Kasab's Case: What is the need to delay the execution of capital punishment?By: Leo Frank | Friday , 8 May '09 18:06:22 PM Reply | Forward Inordinate delays in the execution of capital punishment to Mohd. Afzal, and now, in imparting justice to Ajmal Kasab are examples of the lax nature of legal system in our country! It now seems that the police should have have shot these perpetrators there
kasab's lawyer wants to inspect kuber boat.By: kaye Sharma | Friday , 8 May '09 10:00:31 AM Reply | Forward Kasab's trial was wayward from day one -what with defence council's dilly dallying and DNA foul-ups ! This man has committed crimes against humanity, invading India from foreign soil. Such criminals dont have legal rights ? I guess they require some legal route to the gallows.; a special court empowered as a military court. It will be a national shame if this trial too lingers on for years; like Abu Salem's and Afzal Guru's plea for mercy .And a signal to the terror squads; kill Indians and enjoy our hospitality !!! Terrorism doesnt deserve mercy ! I had anticipated legal gaffes from the way investigations went , and blogged---'6/11 Terrorist judiciary's migraine "--. Its on my blog site -' Kayesharma @sulekha.com' -for your reading if you so desire .
"Will truth really triumph"?By: Padmaja Parthasarathy | Friday , 8 May '09 8:47:52 AM Reply | Forward More than offering a fair trial to Kasab, his lawyer wants to prove himself a successful criminal defence counsel so that he could become popular, take up high profile and wealthy cases in future and become rich and famous in a short time. So he is hell-bent on finding any loop hole in the prosecution arguments to defend his client and to exhibit his expertise. In other words, these tactics are meant to promote his own career and prospects. But for this case, who would've heard of Mr. Abbas Kazmi? Now all the gangsters and big criminals in India are going to be waiting in line in front of Mr. Kazmi's residence. Good for him and bad for the country! Is it really true that "Truth alone will triumph"?
Due process of the lawBy: Narinder | Friday , 8 May '09 7:45:51 AM Reply | Forward Let the law take its own coarse. If the demand is granted by court then there is nothing we should discuss. When so many indian leaders and criminals seen on TV footages were defended and successfully goy scot free what is the fun in proposing different punishment to Kasab. We should respect our judicial system. Let us not allow political parties to make it their issue. Points raised by Kasab for Toothpaste etc should be taken as an eye opener. There are so many innocent indians in jail waiting trial or just put in jail. We should discuss why they can not be given tooth paste. Is it because media can not make a news out of it? I Invite people to have a discussion on it.
Fair TrialBy: Sushant Pandit | Friday , 8 May '09 2:21:40 AM Reply | Forward The greatness of India should be in its system that gives a fair trial to someone as rotten as Kasab. We have to show the world and especially to our neighbours (both on the western and eastern fronts) that we do indeed carry with us the torch of 5000 years of sublime civilization. Yes, we are and can be firm- yes we can fight our battles and wars but we should and never forget that democracy and independent judiciary are bedrocks of our ethos, our culture and our sense as a nation. We will behave, even under greatest of provocation, as a civilized society that has the most impeccablly independent judiciary. Hats off to all who make this country.I am a proud Indian today.
Kasab the terrist.By: Raj Pal Ahuja | Friday , 8 May '09 1:49:43 AM Reply | Forward This man does not need any mercy. The attorny's also need no mercy who are asking such sily question. Sometime he need perfumes, newspapers in urdu. This is nothing but waste of time. They are buying times to avoid any justice. He should be either hanged to death or only other way of punishment is that he should be shot dead before the public i.e.make him to stand on a post in the open opposit to gate way of INDIA on shot before the public so that other terriosts should learn a lesson.
JusticeBy: Kishore | Thursday , 7 May '09 23:42:18 PM Reply | Forward No doubt that every Indian wants Kasab to be hanged. But let's not forget that we have a judicial system and our very existence of democracy depends largely on a sound judiciary. But most of the time justice is delayed by several years may be several decades, no question about that. This is a special case and i hope it cuts across the party lines and petty politics. Let the defense play out its game. With all the visual evidence on the record and people coming forward to testify I'm sure justice will be done. Also since no other terrorist has been captured in the past 7-8 years for various bombings in India and political party in power will try to make it a personal case to showcase the country that they delivered justice. Which is shameful but what matters is justice.
Biggest DemocracyBy: Samir USA | Thursday , 7 May '09 23:20:09 PM Reply | Forward Let the world not forget this trial ever. Lord Rama gave the evil Ravana many many chances to surrender. In worldly terms this trial is costing the Indian taxpayer. Being even a bigger democracy than the self proclaimed US democracy, the Indians have been docile for too long. 50 years from now nobody may even remember this, but if documented in the UN and "other" so called "powerful" nations, BHARAT (INDIA) will shine. This is truly unbiased equality, even a "terrorist" is given a chance to speak his lying heart...
