Loopholes galore in Dehradun Police's 'encounter' story

New Delhi: There are several loopholes in the story being given by the Dehradun police on the encounter of 24 year old Ranbir Singh that need to be answered. To begin with who were the two boys that were accompanying Ranbir Singh at the time they were intercepted by the police. Their whereabouts are not k  ....Read more

ranbirBy: gabar singh | Tuesday , 28 Jul '09 10:05:51 AM Reply | Forward this is very sad that all are blaming police for the fake encounter of the police but why reporter not asking this question that what ranbir was doing with the pistol, and how much courage he has that he dared to open fire on a police officer. it was officer luck that the pistol was locked. if an educated man open fire in public than he should be punished but not encountered.
Dehradun Police By: AKC | Saturday , 18 Jul '09 16:24:47 PM Reply | Forward I am sorry for the family of Ranbir and do hope that Bhatt will be severely punished if Ranbir was innocent but I definitely do not find any merit in the view that Ranbir was innocent because he was a MBA or did not have a past record of crime. Let it be investigated. Criminals among students are not an unknown phenomenon and the present apparatus of crime makes only educated suitable for big crimes. Many terror activities are committed and supported by highly educated individuals all over the world. Similarly not all criminals have past record of crime, there may not even be first time for many hardened criminals. I do not know if Kasab, the perpetrator of 26/11 crime had a past record of crime. Somebody could enlighten.
Lament Ranbir's death By: AKC | Saturday , 18 Jul '09 16:12:28 PM Reply | Forward I am not happy with the way media handles and sensationalizes events. In a civil society the media should be a watch dog and it should discharge its duty of reporting facts sincerely, honestly, without fear but impartially. Such behavior of media strengthens institutions of governance in society. But investigation of crime is a serious business and the media or ordinary citizens like us who expressed so many views do not have the role or competence to investigate the crime or to conclude if a man is guilty. They must desist from it. Government has created Agencies to investigate crimes and judiciary to decide guilty. Even if we are not happy with the functioning of these agencies, we can’t permit this role to be performed by the Media. Self assumption of such roles by media or ordinary citizen is fraught with danger particularly in a country like India with large no. of poor and ill educated population who could be easily manipulated.
Suspend and arrest SSP Amit Sinha and his gang of butchersBy: Satish Negi | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 16:16:47 PM Reply | Forward If the CM Nishank fails to recommend CBI inquery then this is going to be a disaster for Uttarakhand. He represents common people and should understand that saving criminals in the Uttarakhand police department will ruin the state. I was associated with Uttarakhand Movement and m witness to the UP police brutalities. Hence it is the duty of the Uttarakhandi community to initiate immediate action for weeding out the criminals from the police department. Amit Sinha And Ganpathy defended the actions of their fake encounter team. Why CM is not ordering the arrest of AMit Sinha and Ganaparhy ??? They might be IPS but they are not above law. Infact they will surely distroy the evidence during the so called CB CID investigation process.
Death of Ranbir by Dehradun PoliceBy: Akhilesh Chaudhary | Saturday , 18 Jul '09 16:04:32 PM Reply | Forward There appears to be a well orchestrated effort to attack police all over the country. You attack them through terrorists act, naxal / maoist act or character assassination by media or through people of doubtful character like Negi. Let us pray that these are not part of a design of making the policing systems discredited and weak. But given the impassioned personalized coverage of police/ army atrocity events, can we really rule out media, criminal, terror, Negi nexus. Not the entire media is irresponsible but some definitely are not responsible. I still do not wish to gag them but it is necessary that their ownership is investigated for such nexus.
Indian Police - the criminals with special license from GovernmentBy: Amit | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 10:22:34 AM Reply | Forward Ordinary people turn into butchers and criminals as soon as they enter police in India. This is what they get in training from seniors already. I have a friend in Uttarakhand Police and I have stopped talking to him now because the way he started thinking
Arrest Senior Police Officers SSP Amit Sinha and IGP GanapathyBy: D. S. Negi | Tuesday , 7 Jul '09 15:26:05 PM Reply | Forward While junior butchers will face the music, Amit Sinha and Ganapathy will go scot free. Senior Police officers in Uttarakhand have been promoting fake encounters to get promotions and medals. Political leadership knows all about them but prefer to save these high ranking criminals for their own ulterior motives. All this is happening in Dev Bhumi, you pump 12 bullets on a youth and lathicharge his ex army father and mother. I wonder what DGP Joshi is doing ?? Nishank is a weak chief minister and won't be able to take appropriate action against high ranking criminals like Ganapathy and Amit Sinha.
Psychopaths in Uttarakhand PoliceBy: Mohan Rawat | Tuesday , 7 Jul '09 11:27:27 AM Reply | Forward The tragedy of Uttarakhand is the weak political structure. After the formation of the state, the beaurocrats took controll of the state and gave lolypops to the political leaderships. All the senior officers have big farm houses in doon valley. The developmental plans were made to appreciate the value of property owened by the beaurocracy. Police department played an important role in this real estate business. In mountains the beaurocracy and police work overtime to displace mountain communities while in plains they serve the interest of the land mafias. The future is bleak for mountain communities. All the pahari bhais will be thrown out of the state or forced to live in city ghettos as low paid manpower and the state will become private property of beurocrats and mafias. All the Chief Ministers in Uttarakhand were weak and always looked at their political bosses in Delhi for approval. Nishank will order the CBI inquery only if Rajnath says so.
Uttarakhand Police is controlled by Land MafiaBy: Raja | Monday , 6 Jul '09 20:28:39 PM Reply | Forward I agree But IGP Garhwal Range Mr. Ganpathy and SSP Sinha must be arrested at once. Off Course DGP must be sacked. A fast track court should be established after handing over the case to the CBI. If possible the entire police department should be disolved ex army guys should be allowed to join the new force.
Police a bad word in UttarakhandBy: Raja Ram | Monday , 6 Jul '09 19:12:17 PM Reply | Forward While endorsing strict action against criminals, I wish to state that most of the Police Officers in Uttarakhand are corrupt and are therefore part of the problem. The IGP Garhwal Mr. Ganapathy must be sacked while SSP Sinha must be booked under 302. There should be a fast track court to give justice to the family of the killed youth. And I agree that DGP should quit or else must be kicked out of his office. If CM Dr. Nishank refuses to give permission then he too won't survive politically and spritually. Butchers must be expelled from the Dev Bhumi.
Uttarakhand Police: A case beyond repairBy: Mahaadev | Monday , 6 Jul '09 18:23:38 PM Reply | Forward It is high time that the people of Uttarakhand rise to fight against the corruption in Uttarakhand Police. We must not forget what happened to us at the Rampur Teraha. It was BJP leader Rajnath Singh who refused to give permission for the prosicution of Anant Kumar Singh as he was a rajput. Firing 12 bullets inside a police chowki and claiming it an encounter shows the sick mentality. The entire police force must be screened psychologically and THE DGP UTTARAKHAND MUST BE SACKED WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. Uttarakhandis must unite to fight the police menace or else the State will be turned into a real state property we won't be able to differentiate betweens the goons and police.
