India MuslimsBy: AbdulRahman Siddiqui | Saturday , 24 Jan '09 16:14:01 PM Reply | Forward I refer to the feature on Madrassas.There is a big miscommunication by Muslim leadership that correct concept of Madrassa are not properly explained ans due to that lot of misunderstanding.I believe Madrasas are to develop educational career of Muslim children same as our schools.Difference being it is based on Islamic eduction principle. What we require is to extend support to Madrasas to bring them in maoin streamline to adopt modern eductional method to teach their syllabus.Muslims in India are as much as Citizen of our country as any other fellow citizens.History would confirm the sacrifices by India Muslim for the country. Be Hawaldar Abdul Hameed against war with Pakistan in 1965 war, or Mohammed Ali Johar or Moulana Azad for the Freedom fighter or Tipu Sultan of Mysore. I as a common Citizen of India take pride to be indian and would like to fight against our real enemy:poverty,illetracy,corruptions and salute to our asecurity forces who laid down their lives for our country.

How is an Indian Citizen connected to those issues ??? If we talk plainly on humanitarian grounds then why not talk of injustices anywhere whatsoever ??? without branding the victim's community ??? If they teach the holy books of Muslims, they are in fact fostering hatred. This is a fact. Please check the curriculum of madrassas of the Wahhabi sect (on faith freedom dot org), the same Saudi version that Deoband is based on. The student spends his entire day being brainwashed against non-Muslims. This is a fact.

MadrasasBy: Meera | Thursday , 22 Jan '09 20:38:20 PM Reply | Forward Maulana Qasmi can be angered by the comments of the Shiv Sena chief and that his right in a democracy just as it is Bal Thackeray's rights to express his opinion because he lives in a democracy too. In a democracy we don't throw people in jail for expressing their opinions only tyrants do. The fact is we know that madrasas in Pakistan and other Muslim countries don't teach people skills instead they teach only religion and often combined with hate for other religions. As an Indian, Mr. Thackerey has a right to express his concerns. But Muslim organizations have an excellent opportunity to prove the world wrong and ensure that the children who come to the Madrassas get excellent skills along with an introduction to Islam. It is also the job of the government to ensure that they check up on all schools secular and religious to ensure that they are actually educating their students effectively.
