Nalbari: The ongoing war of words between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and BJP Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani on terrorism was ‘petty’ and should stop, CPI(M) politburo member Brinda Karat said. Petty bickering Manmohan Vs AdvaniBy: DPKarkara | Sunday , 19 Apr '09 11:42:27 AM Reply | Forward Welcome Birinda you have said what a large number of the countrymen are saying about these two people. Their meaningless personal attacks on each other have made the people to switchh off the TV channels as these have bored them depressed them. Sonia is also not far behind in debasing the standards of political debate. One wonders if any of the three have any right to the sympathy of any Indian. One thing is clear Advani has managed to pull down Manmohan Singh to the level to which he belongs. The aura Manmohan Singh had managed to weave around him with the help of a committed media and suppression of his real intentions is now finished and his real character of a self seeking person with the disposition of a bureaocrat stands revealed. Thge way he defamed Indian democracy at the time of Confidence vote was the beginning but people still blamed saleable leaders for that. Thw way Mr. Karat exploded his assertions about the left joining after the elections is the perfect answer to his perfidy. As for Advani, the BJP and the country would be much better without him.
Brinda's worry about Prime MinstersBy: rajmohan k | Sunday , 19 Apr '09 9:22:22 AM Reply | Forward Brinda, you please go and find some more terrorist organizations which can be inducted into CPM for votebank, exactly the way your party did in Kerala by inducting Abdul Naser Madani and PDP who has been jailed for terrorists activities. Dont worry and spend your time correcting the senior most leaders like Advani and Manmohan Singh!
Secularism and left - wah lawjabBy: oldindian | Sunday , 19 Apr '09 6:52:56 AM Reply | Forward First to the point about political bickering. I find it amazing that left, by that I mean surjit's followers, who fought tooth and nail with indira over imposition of emergency (indira was opposed by opposition for transfer of the power of the legislature to PMO) do not see the merit of advani's arguments - which is that the unconstitutional surrender of decision making authority to chaiperson of the coailition by constitutionally recognized PM is making a mockery of democracy. And shinde, wily maharashtrian politician said so much in public - by his "ji huzoor" speech, which is not being cursorily mentioned by yours truly NDTV. The absurdity of the situation is such that, none of us know what the PM and by the extension his office and ministry thinks about any issue. With respect to issue in assam, we dont know who is responsible and has final call on what needs to be done w.r.t illegal immigration issue - ideally PM should own up any decision made w.r. that. He cant say "Dher aaye durust aaye" for any messups and follow up corrections. and as far as secularism and left goes, what about madani's mohabbatein for LDF in kerala?
Secualrism an illdefined conceptBy: Dr.G.Srinivasan | Sunday , 19 Apr '09 6:12:24 AM Reply | Forward Secularism is an ill defined concept which was not there in the original constitution .It was inserted by Indira Gandhi who also knew nothing about it !!!!Now every Tom dick and dick (Sorry Harry !!!)talks about secularism as though they are the guardians of it!!!!

ADVANI initiated llegations and cheap language - He must stop and apologise first By: Divyesh Raythatha | Sunday , 19 Apr '09 2:15:52 AM Reply | Forward OLD guys of BJP Advani and Modi initiated to use abusing, derogatory language in their election rallies for Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. They both started in a well planned strategically one by one, but when it bounced back and nobody appreciated, they are now in defending position. Various people Lalu, Brinda Karat, Abhishek Singhvi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka, and others have used adjectives and labelled them OLD-Aged, FANATIC HINDUS, DISHONEST, "JINNAH CHAMCHA", MASJID DEMOLISHER, LIFE-LONG WAITING, addressing senselessly OSAMA as OBAMA, Parliament BOYCOTTER Wasting tax-payers' money, etc. India-Bharat is a democratic country where we have been given the right of Freedom of Speech, Expression and Press. But Advani-Modi crossed their limits and misused the Freedom provided in our Constitution. It was completely undemocratic, substandard, unethical way to misguide people in election meetings. Many people feel offended from these guys.

Fishing in troubled watersBy: Mahendrasingh Kumawat | Saturday , 18 Apr '09 17:10:01 PM Reply | Forward So now it is the turn of the coterie led by Karat to give gratuitous advice to MMS and Advani. And what is their own standing in such matters? After being stung by the refusal of MMS to stop negotiating the N-deal with USA, this coterie had spoken unspeakables about MMS and his party, only to be givena cold shoulder by the latter.
