Mask upon mask in the BJP

The Sangh Parivar is too broad a term. It incorporates the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the Bajrang Dal, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Sri Ram Sene, Stree Shakti, Vyapari Sangh, Vanvasi Kalyan outfits and several other front organisations. Bang on Kumar Ketkar part IIBy: twistolime | Monday , 25 May '09 17:31:21 PM Reply | Forward 3) Mr. ketkar...also do write a fantastic piece like this explaining how...NOT A SINGLE Christian denomination in this pluralistic country serves the poorest of the poor with love and service in their hearts. There has never been any monetary inducement or coercion in this land. Not a single dime of the millions the church recives is linked directly and proportionately to the numbers converted to the 'flock'.4) Also, pls do do write one more piece on how the Naxalites-maoists have nothing to do with the mainstream Left parties. How none of the many NGO's like YUVA and so called civil liberties and human rights organizations have no secret supporters and activists of the extreme left.Thank you and looking forward to your writings Mr. Ketkar.
Bang on Kumar KetkarBy: Twistolime | Monday , 25 May '09 17:21:28 PM Reply | Forward Dear Mr.KetkarFantastic work. Now can you kindly give us equally passionate articles explaining how1) There is not a single rabidly communal Muslim organization in our country and there is nothing but just pure egalitarian Islam being preached in every Madrassa of our country.2) The ally of the Congress and the left, Adul Madani of the Islamic Seva Sangh and such outfits is a 'washed in milk' secular pluralistic Indian. So are the the former Razakars who have regrouped as Majlis-e-Ittehad ul-Muslimeen in Hyderabad. These organizations, including the Indian Muslim league, have no connection with SIMI, Indian Mujahadeen, Deccan Mujahadeen etc etc. They are anything but right wing. TO BE CONTD.

What are the barbs about?By: Vistasp | Friday , 22 May '09 13:31:21 PM Reply | Forward Some ten of you have gone to town on this page addressing the rather fine distinction between Ram Sene and RSS. Like it matters! It's apparent to any sane, unprejudiced mind who and what is the fountainhead. Instead of abusing Mr Ketkar for his forthright, no-nonsense views you all must understand that in a pluralistic nation such as ours, such virulent ideologies (and I mean of all hues) do not and cannot take the country far. Mr. Ketkar's Maharashtrian credentials are a relief and a beacon of hope in the cesspool of intellectual dishonesty and the "set positions" people inevitably take when it concerns their caste/creed/religion. Hats off Sir, may you keep wielding your pen with all honesty despite the poison that flows unabated here. Intellectuals like you are a rarity. And if India's election results are any indicator, the average Indian citizen is certainly nowhere close to harbouring as much prejudice as is dripping on this message board. Jai Hind. And Jai to the idea of India!
Sonia Bhakt Kumar KetkarBy: chinmay Kulkarni | Friday , 22 May '09 0:04:03 AM Reply | Forward it is very well known in maharashtra dat Mr.Kumar Ketkar is an ardent devotee of Sonia madam.so obviously he makes such sycophant like comments dat even congress leaders feel shy.i think congress should give Kumar Ketkar something for his devotion 2 congress chief.Shri Ram Sene has nothing 2 do with RSS
Its UPA's By: onenonlyone | Thursday , 21 May '09 23:18:04 PM Reply | Forward Go ahead and write to your heart's content. Beat your chests and boast your "secular" credentials. Its your day.
Sri Ram Sene is not part of RSSBy: Bharavi | Thursday , 21 May '09 21:52:16 PM Reply | Forward Kumar Ketkar is (or was??) the editor of Loksatta, marathi cousin of IE. He should know the difference between facts and opinion. Sri Ram Sene was never part of RSS. Some times the narrators combine all hues under one color to enhance the contrast (all right wing orgs under one umbrella). But Ketkar has not done that, he distinguishes between HMS and RSS in details. So why this stupidity and dishonesty?I urge the columnists to stick to the facts, just because IE is giving you space does not mean you can write anything.
UPA'S INDIABy: Rishi | Thursday , 21 May '09 15:34:01 PM Reply | Forward For the next couple of months there will be many like the author, Javed Anand and varity of pseudos who will praise UPA make tall predictions and virtually write BJP to its grave. But as I said above just for the next 2 months. This is there moment we should let them have it!!
Muddle viewsBy: shiney | Thursday , 21 May '09 14:44:34 PM Reply | Forward While you are allowed to get carried away by the victory of the UPA, just like the rest of your ilk are, not sure why intelligent people like you didnt come out and predict that UPA will come to power. For god's sake the Congress has not even got majority on its own, what is this tamasha about? When did Sri Ram Sene become part of RSS? Dont write rubbish for the sake of filling up your columns. This isnt the last election in India, this country needs another pan india centrist party otherwise we will be left at the mercy of the family, as we were for the first 40 years post independence.I hope atleast one of you in the media will come out and write about what has dramatically changed in the next 5 years, if not for the promotion of nepotism.Everyone in the media seems to be an expert now, that the results are announced, but not sure why all these gems of information were not given out before, so that we could have been saved from the torturous info overdose.
