'Muthalik not married, so he doesn’t respect women'

New Delhi: Hitting out at Sri Ram Sena chief Muthalik, Minister for Women and Child Development Renuka Chowdhary said that if he stops Valentine Day celebrations, she would take him on. On a sarcastic note, Renuka said, “Muthalik is not married, that’s why he doesn’t respect women”. She further said that   ....Read more

Pink Chaddi WalliBy: Suresh Rao | Sunday , 22 Feb '09 14:57:55 PM Reply | Forward Renuka is married then why does she not respect women? Why does she encourage women with her 'pub bharo andolan' ?Can Renuka answer what does one do in a pub ? Study and sing bhajans is it ??? Is going to pub encouraging Indian culture ? What is the dim wit trying to state ???
Stop moral policingBy: Sanju | Wednesday , 18 Feb '09 15:39:14 PM Reply | Forward I find the objections many of the readers have to the statements of Renuka highly amusing. Since India is a democracy It gives every one the right to live their own lives to their own terms, unless it infringes on the right of others. So I would like to inquire whose right does the girls or youth or anyone for that manner infringe if they go to a pub or even a night club for that matter. If we could vote for whom so ever we please, how much more right do we have to subscribe to what so ever lifestyle we please..and by the way the kamsutr was not written by the Brits nor was the The Khajuraho sculptures sculpted by Michaelangelo...so kindly stop labelling your 18th century victorian values as something indian.
IRRESPONSIBLE MINISTER RENUKA = MUTHALIKBy: Renjith Nair | Tuesday , 10 Feb '09 12:18:31 PM Reply | Forward As a parent of a child,I want to ask Renuka Chowdhary if she ever wish to go to Pub and get addicted to drugs and dance like the so called "Item No."??? OR Do u ever wish your children go to pub and do whatever nasty they want??? or do you mean to say that all parents in this country should act like you as an irresponsible and idiotic person?? what do you mean by Pub Bharo??? We want to see you in pub ,consume alcohol and dancing till you are in power. We do not want our children go disarray, nasty and unproductive.Mind it.in my View as a citizen of this country,I deject you as a Minister...You are simply not eligible to be in that position. Where is your voice when wemen are repeatedly being raped in streets of Delhi??? where is your voice when Son of a Goa Minister raped a minor girl??? Be sure, you will be thrown out in the coming election, just because of your dirty politics.
PoliticiansBy: Anant | Thursday , 5 Feb '09 22:36:58 PM Reply | Forward Political parties and other organisations for their short term gains will destroy India in the longer run. India urgently needs better law enforcement agencies independent of political parties. What seems to be a law and order failing situation turns in to a political and cultural issue. People of India fall for this trick by the politicians. It is encouraging to note that the media is playing a huge role in asking for accountability from the politicians. Although it is in early stages but it is definately encouraging. In the interviews conducted politicians seem to make a complete fool of themselves. Now is the time for the Indians to follow the path of justice and distimguish between right and wrong. Also it is time to live and let live without suffocating others with their own beleifs.
Nonsense!By: Sandeep | Thursday , 5 Feb '09 14:29:12 PM Reply | Forward Since when has Renuka known the meaning of respect? This is the same woman infamous for this quote - "I am here to teach men what their mothers didn't teach them".Do unto others what you want others to do to you. Give respect to earn some.- Sandeep
Moral policing, dividing bjp supporting sriram senaBy: Sujeet Ramanna | Thursday , 5 Feb '09 13:00:59 PM Reply | Forward its amazing the lobby thats trying to support Muthalik in the garb of dissing Renuka. The pinch being felt is the muthalik and his organizations link with the BJP and how the BJP is tacitly supporting these organizations.. and wants to 'morally police' the people in karnataka...well, we can see through the motives of the bjp in communalsing this state in the name of 'indian culture' ..ibut i am afraid everyone can see how this poison has been sown by the bjp and it has done to the state in the time it has been in office..letting loose goons of the likes of sriram sena, VHP, bajrang dal...the bjp doesnt fool anyone anymore..its is party that divides and thats what it will be known for..muthalik and goons can be sure of one thing, that we as united indians will not allows such barbaric hoodlums get away with murder...no matter how much bjp tries to save them..game on!

Muthalik not married, so he doesn’t respect womenBy: Aam Adamai | Thursday , 5 Feb '09 11:27:19 AM Reply | Forward I have been reading about this controversy caused by the intolerant and thoughtless Mutalik. In fact I would say, that the actions of Mr Mutalik has completely hijacked a real issue and has polarized intelligentsia into 'for or against' camps. The answer basically lies in between. The issue is whether Valentines Day is an affront on Hindu Culture? The answer is yes and no.The equivalent of Valentine's day is celebrated among Hindus as 'Karva Choudh' in most of north India.I know that each state has its variation. This festival involves fasting and penance be females for health wealth and prosperity of their better half or lover or a prayer for getting a life partner in case of unmarried girls. Now compare this with how Valentines days is celebrated- expression of love through mostly indulgence, and physical intimacy-nothing spiritual. One can say this is people's personal choice, but think of the consequence of this in terms of society-esp. parents who have teenage daughters!!
Renuka's cheap dialogueBy: Premkumar | Thursday , 5 Feb '09 11:25:51 AM Reply | Forward Why is this lady minister looping so low to use Bazaari dialogues to promote Pub culture when the health minister and other congress leaders(Male) speak against it? Why she is quiet about the recent case where a father was found raping his own daughter? What is she doing as a women and child welfare minister? is she not aware that India is going to to get the First Oscar award because of Her ministries inefficincy? Is her duty only limited visiting beauty parlor and showing face on TV channels? She should first do her duty properly, go and see those slums and see how the women and children are living instead of making Muthalik a hero. You are not made a minister to to bulge you body with the tax payers money.
Stupid MajorityBy: Rohit Chatterjee | Thursday , 5 Feb '09 11:21:28 AM Reply | Forward I agree with Ms. Asha Patel (except for the praying to God part). The rest of you are all nuts.I do notice that I and other sensible people are in the minority. This is expected - in all societies the majority of people are stupid. And on the Internet people tend to be especially stupid, perhaps it is the anonymity. Oh well what to do.
