Who's Fault?By: Nupur Shridhar | Tuesday , 7 Jul '09 5:22:49 AM Reply | Forward What people need to understand is that "rape" doesn't mean "an act women instigate." Rape is not caused by low-cut blouses. It isn't caused by traveling at night. Rape is a crime, committed largely by men (and largely against women), that is about power and subjugation. Simply put, regardless of where this young woman (or any woman) was or how naively she acted, she ought to be protected, not simply by federal or state authorities, but also by the good intentions and consciences of each and every citizen.Who's at fault, then? Certainly the auto drivers--but also those of us who would try to blame an innocent woman who came here full of hope for a better future. Rape might be COMMITTED by a very small (but still alarmingly large) percentage of the Indian population, but it's PERPETUATED by those of us who prefer to blame its victims rather than rectifying the socioeconomic inequalities that foster it; currently, we are failing in our attempts to educate men and protect women.
Blaming the victimBy: arun lal | Tuesday , 7 Jul '09 2:17:13 AM Reply | Forward "there are lots of policeman in surroundings... she had to complaint there...". Mr. Manager: Are you joking? Don't you know the excellent record of your police? Fake encounter killings, sexual harrassment (you call it eve teasing), rapes and the list goes on. How unfortunate that you guys constantly blame the victims. Jine naaz hai hind per woh kahan hain?
Stop blaming the victim!By: observer | Tuesday , 7 Jul '09 1:09:11 AM Reply | Forward She did not go with 'strangers' as some posters have reported. She got into a taxi and was duped by the driver. Just because she did not know the place that well does not mean rape is her fault. If that is the case then every tourist coming to India is automatically just asking to be raped.

GANG RAPE OF NEPALI WOMANBy: joiceeverghese | Monday , 6 Jul '09 19:37:12 PM Reply | Forward 75% mistake is of the victim, why did she leave air port to an unknown place ? She should have reported the matter to the Police when she was in doubt of her travelling.
Shame on you!By: Damini | Monday , 6 Jul '09 17:29:11 PM Reply | Forward @manish sharma and Rabindran - Your names sound Indian to me. When you say "Shame Indians" and "Shame to our largest democracy", you are shaming yourselves, aren't you? There are black sheep in every society in every country. Josef Fritzl (from Austria) raped his own daughters. Does that make all Austrians incestuous rapists?
ManagerBy: Bimal | Monday , 6 Jul '09 14:20:11 PM Reply | Forward Why she believed strangers and agreed to go with them.. she can't tell that she didn’t get a chance to escape as the first guy left her at airport and there are lots of policeman in surroundings... she had to complaint there itself... without that she walked towards the danger.. she absolutely invited the trouble.. and after rape the auto drivers elope with her valuables..and as there is no way she now "COMPLAINED" ...that she had been raped... The rapists must get good punishment, but girls plz don't get into possible troubles.
SHAME INDIANS SHAMEBy: manish sharma | Monday , 6 Jul '09 11:26:38 AM Reply | Forward Vinod should be hanged to death . Shame Indians shame.
Why Crimes are Increasing!By: Rabindran | Monday , 6 Jul '09 9:58:32 AM Reply | Forward No forein woman, housemaids, housewives and teen age sisters and even the minors too are being the victim.Shame to our society!Shame to our largest democracy!
