Pak army rented out to US for $1.5 bn: Imran Khan

Islamabad: Cricketer-turned politician, Imran Khan has charged the PPP-led government of being subservient to the United States, saying that government has rented out the country’s army to the US in exchange of 1.5 billion dollars. “We have rented our military out to US in exchange of mere 1.5 billion dol  ....Read more

two can play the gameBy: INDIAN | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 14:26:21 PM Reply | Forward America is doing just what Pakistan itself is doing with the Hizbul Mujahiddin and the LeT and the Hurriyet Conference in Kashmir. It has taken these outfits on rent to further its own agenda to destabilise India. Pakistan has also taken on rent criminals to push fake Indian currency to destroy the Indian economy. What Pakistan does to India, the USA is doing on a slightly bigger scale in Pakistan that's all. Quite simply it is a matter of scale.
Pak army rented out to US for $1.5 bn: Imran KhanBy: Ratan Gupta | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 8:20:38 AM Reply | Forward Imran Khan by far is the greatest Cricketer Asia has produced so far. And the best looking Cricketer in the world. He is a critque of the government, like we have many critiques in our country. Some of their comments are right, some are wrong. To attack Imran Khan in such a vulgarity, is the testimony that we have fallen ourselves to disgrace. When are we going to accept the fact that America and the West needs Pakistan very badly. We have failed to see the geographical situation. If Pakistan raise its hands, the world will cry. Pakistan is doing a great faovour to the world by launching such an all out attack. 5 million of its citizens are homeless today. And still we are not happy. When was the last time Christian, Hindus and others have taken the task to their own extremists? Still we have too see that. Muslim extremmists were not responsible to kill 6 million jews, 200 million Red Indians, 1/2 million Japs.
Pakistan armyBy: venus arora | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 3:43:52 AM Reply | Forward Pakistan armies are for the border and not for running the country. Pakistan army is a full fledged buissness unit of the country running its own industries. So what if it is rented out for the money, afterall the naive americans are giving something to the country.
rented army?By: Amarjit Poonia | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 1:25:12 AM Reply | Forward If you think about it rationally you can also conclude that the USA is helping Pakistan protect its innocent people from the terrorists(Taliban and whoever else they are)
Pretty Boy ImranBy: Intrepid | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 0:16:59 AM Reply | Forward Pretty Boy Imran should stick to cricket or something other than national politics. What the hell does he know about governance, policies, etc. Maybe he needs Jemima's shoulders to cry and whine on! The rest of you! Go back to school and learn to spell, read and write english! Atrocious!!!!!!!!!
Iramn Khan wants Sharia !!!By: aditya | Tuesday , 7 Jul '09 21:53:53 PM Reply | Forward Looks like Imran Khan wants sharia in Pakistan. These fools never realise what Terrorism is. His social and religious insecurity will never give these people a chance to wake up....blissfull lives in hell!!!!!!
do you want to sale out your country to the muslims ?By: ganumia fardousi | Tuesday , 7 Jul '09 21:21:47 PM Reply | Forward It was a blunder of indian leadwership to allow muslims in indian territory - after pak driven out all the minorities out of their own homeland. Islamic community cannot suit them to live with the non-muslims because their religion and social structure does not allow to accept any reform act according to modern life. They want to stay in the stone-age structure of Islam. Let them go to Pak, what's problem ? They don't mind to marry their step-mpther also.
wake up pakisBy: dr.s n v sagar | Tuesday , 7 Jul '09 21:09:17 PM Reply | Forward imran khan is talking nonsense. US has helped Pakistan since ages giving billions billions of dollars from tax payers money and saved them from being a failed state. Yet you pakis blame them for everything .How ungrateful you fellow are? Mr.10 percent thoughts and actions looks more in touch with ground reality than others. Wake up military and ISI get rid of these terrorists and their organisations and let the people in the sub continent live peacefully. World needs a strong and economically viable moderate Islamic Pakistan. Wake up pakis and be rationale.
A bad bargainBy: Jayadevan | Tuesday , 7 Jul '09 20:54:51 PM Reply | Forward The American imperialists, as always, cheated the brown guys out of a proper price. They have been exploiting us for too long, and it is time we stood up for a proper price. That said, what is so strange about that? The Pakistani military is one of the biggest business establishments in the country. They, or their subsidiaries own more real estates, factories and farmland than anyone else. And they have been making a nice profit from all that. As for legitimacy, if Blackwater can legitimately incorporate itself without stating any dalsehoods about its own business and get contracts from Government, why can't the Pakistani Army? Mercenary is a bad word only for people who do not know history.
Pak army rented out to US for $1.5 bn: Imran KhanBy: Mike | Tuesday , 7 Jul '09 20:18:35 PM Reply | Forward What the heck Imran Khan is talking about. Pakistani Army has done nothing so far to curb terrorists. In fact supported them, trained them and in case of Taliben, invented them. Musharraf has taken in $11bn. has given no account. Pocketed some of that money and used the rest to build up the Army to fight India. Now it is about the time that Obama tightened its screws to use the money for the purpose it is intended for. Why shouldn't America demand Action when it is paying so much to fight terrorism. If it is up to Mr. Imran Khan, what would he do after receiving BHIKH from the USA? Would he continue to have Taliben take over the country city by city, county by county? Tell the world what you have don with the money already received prior to this 105bn deal with the United States.
