Just think about it, you have gone to the hospital as a pregnant lady, you find out that you have a killer disease in HIV, the child in your womb might be infected etc. What a mental state she would have been in. To put things into perspective just imagine you have been diagnosed with a terminal illness, I still remember how I broke down when doctors told me that my mother has stomach cancer. In this lady's case the doctors the very people who were responsible for saving lives have taken additional steps to make her a complete outcast. It goes to show how much stigma is attached to the disease. I think we humans have no humanity left in us, we dole out compassion etc only when it serves our interests or at-least does not endanger our lives. Being doctors they could very well know how to protect themselves from this disease and what precautions needs to be taken. Instead they have gone against the very human spirit.
