Manu Pubby and Anubhuti Vishnoi

New Delhi: A goof-up late Wednesday night by Home Minister Shivraj Patil and the airing of live footage by television channels on Thursday compromised rescue operations at the Trident and Taj hotels in Mumbai by giving terrorists prior information, security forces have said. Blue-eyed boy of the matriarchBy: N Natarajan | Saturday , 29 Nov '08 18:49:13 PM Reply | Forward In any other country, this non-performing Home Minister would have been sacked long ago. But in this dynastic regime, he is the blue eyed (nattily dressed) boy of the Matriarch, Sonia and cannot be touched. Even the PM has no option in the matter. About the irresponsible media--the less said the better.
Bring down leaders to the streetBy: Janice Pearl | Saturday , 29 Nov '08 0:31:40 AM Reply | Forward These blessed politicians don't bear the brunt of any crisis situation. Infact, they enjoy basking in the limelight at such opportunities to show that they are concerned. It's not just a shame on us for having such UNAWARE and UNEDUCATED leaders but what's worse is when leading media houses behave in the most irresponsible fashion and cause more damage than assistance to the crisis.
Suicidal CoverageBy: Brig K. S. Grewal (Retd) | Friday , 28 Nov '08 18:11:05 PM Reply | Forward It is a shame that all tv channels were so obsessed with 'exclusive' and 'first with the news' syndrome that they were showing hapless commandoes climbing a scaffolding as part of the mission. Had these TV daily wagers seen the film Wednesday they would have realised how there cameras were helping the terrorists in seeing the activities of our securiry forces. I have lost respect even for Barkha Dutt
Where to draw the line???By: Jasvir Kaur | Friday , 28 Nov '08 13:36:20 PM Reply | Forward Mr. Patil has lost whatever image was left.. It is very clear from all this episode that neither the media nor the home ministry wants to take any responsibility or understand the seriousness of the situation.. The media was helpful in transmitting the news, not just to the general public but also to the terrorists. I think Indian media needs to be more regulated if they cannot understand where to draw a line just to make their TV channel a masala channel. how can these people shoot a live rescue operation and give all details in advance, are they such fools not to know that even the terrorists would come to know about the same.
Whose side are you on?By: Soortadhar | Friday , 28 Nov '08 10:30:37 AM Reply | Forward The point is that the electronic media's credibility is questionable. They are SUPPOSEDLY ON INDIA'S SIDE, then they should have the common sense and not air any thing stupid. From Conversations with their Anchors with Terrorists, by giving blow by blow account of the Army operations, the Media has crossed a line and now it must be regulated. I am not surprised that an 6 to 7 hour operation by the NSG and Armed forces has been prolonged for so much time thanks to Media's stupidity.Whose side are you on Media ?
Patil happyBy: Subris | Friday , 28 Nov '08 9:17:17 AM Reply | Forward Patil is allowing such terror attacks to happen because such incidents brings the media focus on him and he can display his dress and suits to public through television
Media and Minister used opportunity for businessBy: Prasoon | Friday , 28 Nov '08 8:21:31 AM Reply | Forward Patil took opportunity to show that he is working to act against terrorist. He gave stats to satisfy journalist fill the space in their media. Security issues are of no importance for Home Minister and Media. Both were busy doing business.
